Growing with stem stump,clone

LOL i was just wondering if this is possible.
Harvest a plant then poke a hole in the stem stump and place a clone with rooting hormone inside it. Will it grow?

Um the roots will root so if the clone were to live, it would probaly get root rot from the decaying roots around it. you can grow a plant back from a stump sometimes if u dont water it a lot.
