Hi guys.

I need your guidance again please.
Don’t know if anyone would know, I’m using a marshydrow ll 400w and as mentioned have some autoflower FastBuds Girl Scout cookies in the tent lights are about 90cm away from my GSC. When do I switch my lights over to Bloom as well, 30 days? should I change my light cycle from 18/6 to 20/4. they in their third week now (17 days), I’m really enjoying the grow so far, I should have started growing years ago. Feeding as well? I needed to ask if you guys could guide me through some feeding tips/schedules those using the same products, I may be limited to some products being in South Africa compared to the States I guess. I’m using general Hydropnics floragrow, micro and bloom only. I’m literally going by the back of the bottle but I’m reading all these other products Kalmag? and that I shouldn’t use the growflora with Autoflowers..?.
Happy Father’s Day dads!!
Thanks for all your help guys.

You can do up to 24 hrs light. I personally do 20/4 for tighter bud growth. Pull that light down to about 60 cm from top of plant. Flora series is good. If you look in my auto experiment thread I have a feed schedule for flora. It's a bit strong for smaller auto's but it gives you and idea instead of back of bottle.

Thanks so much for taking the time Swish! Must appreciated!
I’ll check out that thread right now. Do you know if I can or should switch my bloom stage on the mars hydro ll 400. Does it matter can I use both switches on from seeding. So I’ll switch my light to 20/4 from today should be fine?

Again thanks so much.

20/4 light on full blast
Swish I need your second OK on this. So full blast means bloom as well? I also have seeds spent 18 hours in water, dark, warm. Root shot out and now in same lights as seedings?

I’m at your week one 2.5ml mix all round with the seeds in the back?

You should be good to go with either a 20/4 schedule or an 18/6 schedule all the way through veggy and bloom. Personally, I do 18/6, but many people prefer 20/4, so that's more relevant to preference. If you're having issues with heat, I'd opt for an 18/6. Some people say that reducing time of lights on can help encourage autoflowers to bloom, but I've never tried it. Personally, I think if you want to encourage bloom you should begin administering small doses of bloom nutrients. What medium are you growing your plants in? :)

Hi Logan.
Thanks so much for your reply.
It’s so difficult I had them on 18/6 first two weeks or so, I thought great save in electricity being so expensive in South Africa. The past three days now I switch to full mode on my mars and just put my seeds in. My feed is general hydroponics grow series, right now I’m 2.5ml per 5 l liters of gro, bloom and micro on those two in the fiber pot in a 50/50 perlite coco. It’s winter and raining in Winelands.

Hi Logan.
Thanks so much for your reply.
It’s so difficult to know what’s right I had them on 18/6 first two weeks or so, I thought great save in electricity being so expensive in South Africa. The past three days now I switched to full bloom and grow mode on my mars and just put my seeds in back no feed for them and no heat issues, is 20/4 worth the cost of the extra hours or should I just go back to 18/6?? So many conflicting variables in growing, My feed is general hydroponics grow series, right now I’m 2.5ml per 5 l liters of gro, bloom and micro on those two in the fiber pot in a 50/50 perlite coco. It’s winter and raining in Winelands.

Generally speaking, the best way to dose with nutrients is to start at about 1/4th of the nutrient strength recommended for that phase of growth on the bottle, sometimes even less, and then slowly but surely working the dosage up a little more, a little more, and so on until you start seeing the very tips of your leaves turn brown and crispy (Burnt). If you're having no nutrient toxicity issues, then you're on the right track, and you've already got a good baseline to return to that you KNOW your plants tolerate well should you make some mistake or overfertilize in the future. Be careful when it comes to additives as well. The only additive I would consider is cal-mag...and since you're not in hydro, you'll more than likely not need it, but plants under those blurple LEDs do tend to use more cal-mag. But I wouldn't worry about that unless you start seeing 'rust' spots everywhere. I think the lighting schedule is personal preference. More light on time will of course mean more growth, but isn't like its a big deal to do 18 on and 6 off to cut back on electricity. Sorry for rambling!! Am always happy to help :)

I prefer 19/5. Anywhere between 18/6- 24/0 will work. Right around 20/4 is the sweet spot. Start to finish.

Start autos straight to final pots and use veg nutes through the end or at least until stretch is over. Those extend veg time and will make bigger autos.

Good luck.

Oh and as they grow lower the light a little at a time. If you see some bleaching back it up a bit.

I ramble dude, at all times like these so please don’t hold back. I had them in half dose last week and went with Swiches schedule for breed of GSC. I’ll def some cal-Mag tomorrow. The breeders also suggested that Girl Scout cookies love their Nu. I seem to be good at this stage but I have noticed even before I started feeding the two plants had a different in color, the one is a darker green and the other more a lime.

Thanks bb2727.
Notes taken luck double clutched and an exciting ride ahead. Looking forward to the grow and meeting new ppl throughout. Top man thanks. I have to ask why you say you prefer 19/5 what the big difference that makes you prefer that hour difference, does it make that much difference to the plant or the bill. If it’s about the plant I’ll hit that hour if it’s not that much of a difference and I save an hour on the billl I’m all in?

i just run 24/0 auto's dont need any sleep ..... the only time i run less then 24/0 is to keep temps down so ill set the timer in the hottest part of the day .... but if your running led temps probably arent a problem so if you can afford it run it max setting 24/0 .... i use hps and led .... when the hps is off the led is running .... great thing about auto's is they can handle whatever ..... in the end if youre happy with the outcome then the path you took to get there is just a learning curve ... :D
