Guinea pig poop fertilizer?

I have heard that rabbit and guinea pig shit make a great fertilizer for household plants.. So would it be good for marijuana? i have 2 guinea pigs that shit alot and when it drys it seems useable.. Oh.. One more thing.. I also have a large iguana who shits alot too... All iguanas eat are fruit and vegetables.. Plz leave comments and opinions.. I am kinda excited about this :)

Give it a shot, those types of animals have a pretty healthy diet, just make sure you compost it for a while so it doesn't burn so hot.

*worth trying, ill also look into this since im looking for new bacteria/fungi to add in my organic formulas

If it's REALLY dried and hard out you don't need to compost it, just put some in a container (empty milk jug works fine) and fill the rest up with water...shake it, stir it, let it sit for 24-48 hours mixing it up every once in a while. This is what I do with chicken shit and cow shit, I also add grass clippings for an added boost of nitrogen. I don't know if Guinea pig/iguana poo works the same as chicken and cow dung, but I think it'd be worth a try. The good thing about diluted organic fertilizer is that it's hard to fuck up with.

When you say "they shit a lot" are you saying he shits more than the average guinea pig, or are you saying that the average guinea pig shits a lot? Just want to get this straight in case this all works out for ya I want to know what to look for in a guinea pig. Ditto for the lizard.

I have made teas with rabbit shit and added it to the soil when i am planting. Never had a problem with it.

Hey Harry,

A piece of advice in the internet lasts for a life-time and helps a million lives, like you did mine.

Santa gave me two guinea pigs and I knew their poop can be of a big use to me. I was thinking after adding the 1st batch to the soil and seeing the plants response, it can be used in the same way as our forefathers used cowdung.

Your words just gained me enough confidence to try this out.
