guys I got a question

I have a friend who tends to blow things out of proportion. He was telling me it is impossible to mask the smell of the plants when they about 2 weeks in.

Now i have a roomate about 25 feet from where they will be at in another room. I'd brether hide the whole thing from him if I could. If not tho, i'll probably end up asking him if it's ok if grow them.

If I tell him, I take a chance of him saying no.

Is there a way to mask the smell? Is it going to really start stinking?

mine rarely smell when theyre vegging...and some of mine dont even smell much when theyre flowering..
I guess its also dependant on which strain you grow..Obviously skunk etc are gonna stink once they start flowering...but some strains hardly smell.
You can also use activated carbon filters on your fan which will kill any smell.. or for 1 or 2 plants, a DECENT ionizer can work fine... ionizers will also help kill any mold etc spores that are in the air.

i have gone to many exents to hide this smell but for me it has been very difficult. my veg plants reak to high heaven only when i leave the house and come home because when your nose isnt used to it the smell is stronger!

whats a strain that hardly smells?

NL#5 has a very low odour and is very stable to grow and a pleaure to smoke, and Blaze (Blue Haze) has a smell unlike any other cannabis so can often be mistaken for other plant spieces. You cold also check out C99 and sweet tooth - smells lide grapefruit.

By the way if you have the correct size carbon filter and in line fan for the size of your grow you will get rid of ALL of the unwanted odours - plus make sure you change the active carbon granules after every 2/3 grows.

your friend is retarded. carbon filters w/ inline fans + ona gel + ventilation covers the smell up almost completely. a few years back my buddy was living in an apt and he had a carbon filter rigged up to a fan connected to a ventilation tube going through his light, cooling the light, and then going through a tube all the way to a crawl space in his "attic" that he cut a hole in his ceiling to connect. it was all taped off perfectly and set up so slick, there were tons of plants and the 1000watt hps was connected to a light mover, so you can imagine the whole setup looked really cool w/ tons of stuff attached to the light. the plants were given the perfect nutrients and the herb was some of the best weed that could be possibly grown, and still the carbon filter + heavy duty fan, and also some ona gel, blocked the smell from leaving the apartment perfectly.

Anywhere I could get some information on this at?

Cause, just looking at that. I'm not familiar with any of it.
