it is up to the user to determine what to post. if you don't want the WWW to know about it, don't put it on the WWW.Kinda glad i never got into those twitter/facebook/myspace social networking sites now.
What about the things that aren't intended to be 'posted'? I don't think people should have to second guess what they search for on Google or what pages they navigate. Like this one, for instance. It's one thing if a persons posts something on facebook for people to see, it's another thing when somebody (or thing) is watching to see when, where, why and how you posted it and is actively collecting data on your behavior in subterfuge.it is up to the user to determine what to post. if you don't want the WWW to know about it, don't put it on the WWW.
people really need to take responsibility for their own actions.
It's not paranoia when they're really after you.Shhhhh....they're watching us right now.
I've been telling people this for years. The other detail is Google Cache keeps a record of everything and the crawlers are not limited by login pages or anything.Kinda glad i never got into those twitter/facebook/myspace social networking sites now.

It's as though our computers are becoming those screens in 1984.
I saw a thing on TV about that, they called it the 'search bubble'. They were talking about how personalized searches tend to filter out results users are less likely to click on, which means you are less likely to see results you might disagree with.they say there is a test you can do, ....
go to GOOGLE SEARCH and type in 'barack obama'. depending on your search history you will get different results. i was going to start a thread to let everyone share their top 3 search results.

I started using ghostery for firefox, it's surprising the number of trackers there are. Google Adsense, Google Analytics are probably the two most common.

Things like tor and i2p do a good job of keeping the servers you are connecting to from knowing your IP. Proxies and VPNs can do this however letting a single source like a proxy server or VPN log all of your internet activity is a bit like dangling your balls in a lions mouth. Sooner or later your going to get bit.I'd like to know just how effective IP address hiding software is these days
I've never heard of it and I probably would have heard something about it if it was any good. Use tor or i2p.I am using "Hide your IP" but not being a IT kinda guy I have no way to truely evaluate the product other than what is read on forums or what they themselves say about the product.
Those are not serach engines they are web browsers. Firefox is going to be better for anonymity because google is the largest data mining corperation on the planet and you shouldn't trust them as far as you can throw the shareholders. As for choice of search engine, try https://ixquick.com or https://ssl.scroogle.orgwhich search engine is best used...google chrome or firefox?
Thanks for the info, I paid a year subscription to "HIDEYOURIP" so if it's not too much trouble can you check it out and give me an opinion please.Things like tor and i2p do a good job of keeping the servers you are connecting to from knowing your IP.
