Had to harvest early!

Ok well it's not as bad as you think. I'm just running low on buds and had to harvest something. So I chopped 1 lower branch on my sweet ogre that is about 1- 1 1/2 weeks away from harvest(been flowering for about 8 weeks). Hated to do it but I'm not buyin another sac again!:weed: Who else had to harvest a branch or 2 early cause your running out of smoke?
 
gonna water cure it then dry? cuz proper air curing take a month or two and drying takes somewhere around a week so it doesnt help you too much......it wont be as potent as it could of possibley be if you dont let it cure right.....
 
i had to harvest a branch the other day, but not cause i was impatient. because where my plants are there is high deer traffic and one broke a branch as it walked past.
i think anyways..... but it was a good 4 weeks early its been drying for 3 days now, ill start curing it soon.
i don't really expect too good of a high but maybe i can cure a good taste into it for a nice flavorful smoke.

No nevermind lol I'm a bamby lover not going to lie, don't kill them. But I have heard any typical galvanized fence will keep deer away, not elk, but the deer won't try to get past it.

All that has been taken into consideration. I only have about 2 weeks of smoke left( I'm not impatient, I just can't go a day without it). So I figuer 1 week to dry and another for cure. I know longer cure is better. Last year I cured mine for 2 months, turned out really good!
 
Is it better to dry the whole branch like that? Because I have been leaving a little bit of stick thinking maybe it would dry faster.

I have my buckets in the ground and had one of my bottom branches staked to the ground. I forgot to untie it when I pulled the bucket up out the ground, it broke off this morning. Should be just under a 1/4 sack dried I would imagine. Its in its 7th week flowering. Shit's pretty sticky and cannot wait to try it. Kinda piss'd me off at first.
 
im moving friday and i gotta harvest about week 7 and im pissed about it. i would just move it but im moving 250 miles away so im not gonna try it
 
I'd rather go without for a few weeks then harvest before they are ready. Unless I had endless amounts growing and the nugs were already white w/ crystals... Then again I still have shit to smoke, so easy for me to say.
 
you can cure them fast.. when i pick of some leaves of my plants so smoke early i dry them on a night lamp... it only teks like 5 minutes to dry about 5 good sized leaves.. just make sure there not on the light for over 30 seconds at a time and make sure you dry both sides... and the lamp must be hot.. if it aint it wont dry them:P

Man I had to reach into the trimmings sac last month. Never thought I would of had to but I was completely out, very harsh smoke and 2 joints felt like I smoked a bowl. MAJORLY SUCKED!! Yeah I think the branch I trimmed will yield about 1/4, mabey a lil more.
 
CC, I had to harvest early last year due to frost and my bud looked just like yours. Coulda went another week or so but it still gave me a good head high. All is not lost, just some potency.

this plant could go to end of sept/ beginning of oct. easy. this is an f1 hybrid strain, and im trying to get the max power from it.
next year, i going to do things a lot different with a little bit more knowledge.

thats drying, not curing. their is a big difference between the 2.
 
I harvested 1 of my NL plants yesterday and bag drying the bud...65 grams wet...but fulla crystals everywhere...soooo sticky. She was only 5 weeks into flower, but I'm in the same boat...no smoke...I have a bunch of other plants that I will wait until ideal chop.
The plant I chopped gets me high as shit!!! Very Sativa trippy high.

Dried in 1 day? How did ya dry it?
 
Been there done that with the early pilfering from a plant, did it again just today as a matter of fact. I'd venture a guess that most who would reply with the "better to be out and let her fully mature than to take early" opinion has never been out but with budding plants that are all theirs...
