Hairs are dry, best method for remoistening?

I hung my crop upside down for 3 days in the grow room. I guess it dried too fast because all the hairs are dry and brittle. I took all the crop down and put it in a paper bag. I've heard that putting orange peels in the paper bag for a couple hours will remoisten the bud. Is this what I need to do? Is there a better method?

also what can be done to make the buds more compact, right now they have hairs sticking out everywhere. Usually the hairs are flat and stuck to the buds when purchased. Does this happen over time? or do I need to do something?

Put them in sealed jars and let them cure. Leave them in there for a day then start opening the top every couple of hours after that. If they are still too dry add some orange peel and check on them after and hour or two..

ive never heard of adding orange peel. then again, ive never had this problem

They seemed to have moistened a tiny bit since I put them in the bags this morning. I have a jar though and I am putting them in. Thank you.

Being semi-impatient person, what is the least amount of time I should wait before smoking for a decent taste (not trying to win a cannabis cup or anything)? I smoked a bit already and it works great but taste bad.

The longer the better but 2 weeks should do it.
