Halogen lights

Im using a 60 watt halogen bulb for my single 12 day old plant. Im planning on getting some cfls but havnt got around to it yet. My main problem is that the stem grows too quickly and the foilage not quickly at all. I know this is because the red spectrum influences stem growth. My question is can i grow a plant with a halogen bulb? Anyone tried with any type of incandescant before? How do i make it work?

theoretically you could but they are terribly inefficient. the lumen per watt is abismal and the heat produced seals the deal. your better off using a cfl.
