Halogen / Seedling issues

Hi, this is my first time growing in an entirely indoor environment. I have a setup with 2 175w halogens paired with 2 65w halogens and have had good success with getting my seeds to sprout.

However, I have run into an issue. The sprouts are about a week old and have grown to 4-6 inches. The first set of serrated leaves have come out on all plants but each of them is drooping around the edges. The coloration has remained the same, but the leaves are getting an almost "soggy" texture.

Any ideas?

Could I be over-watering? The top layer of soil has remained moist to the touch even though I water every four days or so.

Thanks,
me

You need Hps , MH, Cfl, T5,T8,T12. Anything but a halogen or incandescent bulb. You are going to cook your plant with those bulbs. Switch to one of those lights that I mentioned and you will do fine.

Good Luck!

From the sound of it, not enough light. Halogen doesn't have the correct spectrum and efficiency for growing. I've heard it can be done but quick google brings up the same issues your having, even up to 5,000 combined watt halogens.

Heat is a major issue as well, I'd move to CFL or if you have the money High Pressure Sodium.

Ok, the only type of bulb I can find in my are (bum-fuck nowhere) are 150w equivalent Cfls with a 6500K rating. After doing some research it looks like the best option is to use these until the flowering stage and then swap them out for a lower K rated Cfl (or maybe a Sodium light ordered online).

Sound good?

Also, it looks like aluminum foil is a no-no. Guess I will strip that from the walls.

Thanks

Yep, you got it right. If you have a Wal-Mart around you, you can use the emergency blankets (found in the camping section) for your walls, instead - cost $2.88 each. It does sound like you're overwatering though - let them dry out to a couple inches deep before watering.
