Hey everyone,
I have a small 2x2x4 tent that im using and I feel like im starting to struggle with heat and its not even warm outside yet.

My ambient temps of my room stay between 71-73 degrees. Inside my tent I struggle to keep the tent anyplace between 81-84 degrees. I do run the tent at a negative pressure to help suck the hot air out faster. I am blowing the warm air out into the room that im also sucking air into. I have my passive intake duct about 5-6 feet away from the carbon filter exhaust. This is where im grabbing my rooms ambient temp from as-well.
Tent setup
  • 2 300W Mars Hydro blurples
  • 6" AC Infinity Fan drawing air out the top into a carbon filter
  • 2 6" fans blowing air around the tent
  • 4" passive intake tube
I feel the tent only raising 10 degrees above room ambient temp is pretty good but im looking for some way to help bring that down even more. As it gets closer to summer I feel like I will be dealing with much hotter temps in my tent.
One thought I had was switching the blurple lights out for a Budget grow LED 130W (https://www.budgetgrowlights.com/collections/micro/products/series-3-lm301h-130-watt-dimmable-grow-light) or even a HLG 135W (https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/kits/products/135w-qb-v2-bspec-led-kit) as I then should be-able to mount the driver out of the tent saving myself a few degrees.
Just wanted to get everyones take on what I should do. Happy growing!

First off, run your lights at night time, as the ambient air is cooler then. Venting your hot air outside is a good plan, or at least into a different room than you're growing in. You could also air condition the room to get it cooler.

House AC would fix your problem right away since your tent is too small to fit a portable one inside of.

Get rid of the mars lights one in mine is too hot and I have to use a/c to keep it at 28c and get a hlg you will have to dim it, I had to get a taller tent to use the 135 rspec at full power.

From what i´ve always learned that in case of a passive intake the size of the passive intake holes must be 3 times larger than the size of the active air output.
No wonder your tent gets to hot since you would need basicly 3 x 6 inch holes for the passive intake.
But since your 6 inch Infinity fan is running low in that small arae you can try to make two more holes of 4 inch as extra passive intake .
