Thanks guys. This year I got that gift that no one wants. Covid. The best I can figure out, I got it on my birthday. I have an ongoing breakfast date every Wednesday with Cousin John at the local diner, and I must have picked it up then. So far the wife is testing negative, but she has a cough, which is how mine started.

Sorry to hear that, bro. Is this your first time catching it? I've had it at least 4-5 times, it really loves me. Hope the wife sidesteps it, and hope you recovery quickly.

My second time having it. The wife and I were trying to decide if it had been two or three years ago when we got it the first time. My buddy Smokie was dying of cancer, hospice had been called in, and the family didn't have anyplace large enough for him to go. So we let him live out his last days at the riverhouse. The night he passed we had a wake for him, and eleven of the twelve folks there got it. I had 2k pine tree seedlings that had to be planted. Plus I was stupid and still smoking, so it was rough that time. It took two weeks to plant the trees. Over twice as long as it should have.

This go round I don't have to get out and work. And I'm not smoking, so not as bad. But I have had a bum kidney since 1984, and the last two nights it hasn't let me get much sleep. It only hurts when I lay down. I'm hoping that passes.

Bummer. Not the best birthday present. With a bit of luck, you'll have a mild case and the only lingering effect will be immunity.
