Happygirl's plants are not happy!

Ok all I think my outdoor plants are root bound because they have stopped growing this is just before flowering. The reason I believe is that they dry out really fast and it seems like the top of the soil is rock hard on one of them at least.. They are like 4 feet tall and I don't know If I should leave them in the pots will this prevent them from flowering? They haven't shown signs of stress just that they are drinking a lot of water! I don't really want to put them in bigger pots due to the fact that I would have to buy more soil and more pots! .Or maybe I should just put them in the holes that their pots are in and buy more soil to go into the holes hmmmmmm...... any suggestions would help.

I don't have any I can't pull them outta the ground with their pots because I have neighbors and take pictures and such. Plus the are not stressed just drying out quickly!

The only thing that happens a lot of the time with a big plant in a container that's too small is you have to water more frequently meaning you need to feed more frequently but generally because feeding is at a greater frequency you can reduce the amount of feed to them.

Some people experience salt build up and toxicity because they don't reduce their feed strength due to the increased frequency.

Thanks I just went out to try and get a picture or two rechecked them I think I am ok on the pots. I might have jumped the gun on my thread yikes!!!!! I really don't want them to get any bigger due to stealth but I just don't want to damage the flowering if being root bound effects it or not. Like I say they don't looked stress on thirsty no discoloring of leaves this is my first grow so I freak out thanks for the advice.
