Depends on how you want to do it.

If you want to hang them, keep branches of length's you can hang on a coat hanger, and hang that on a clothes line or similar stretched line.

If you are using drying racks, probably want to just cut small branches that will fit into your racks most conveniently.

If you have a small amount (few ounces worth or less,) and the time to pay attention, a wet trim is usually fine. If you live in an especially humid environment, also might want to wet trim. This is just where you take not only the big fan leaves off, but also a bit closer, trimming the sugar leaves close to the calyx. If you wet trim, and live in a dry environment like I do, you're going to be dry enough to jar cure within 4 days of hang drying. So be aware of humidity in your area.

I have moved into a dry trim over the years though, and I like just chopping huge branches down, taking the fan leaves off and letting them hang for a week and a half, or whenever the majority of the branches are getting a nice crack when you bend but not quite snapping. After that, you take your branches and cut down to individual nuggets inside a bucket, jar, turkey bag... whatever you are using to cure, and then you can just dry trim a few buds every time you burp during cure. I personally have gotten lazy to where I just leave the sugar leaves on, and just trim or pick off leaves as I am getting ready to consume, but you can easily trim everything dry just by waiting till the cure has progressed far enough along to where you can flick some clippers along the outside and the sugar leaves just kinda pop off real easy.

Either way. Good luck with your harvest man!
