I used 2200 watts to veg them when they got to around 16 weeks into flowering and no longer would one light suffice. So no it's not a "waste" but to each their own. Total watts was 1600 watts of led and 2200 watts of hps/mh and yes these were autos. I emailed the company and they said 100% they were autos. And they couldn't believe the size they got. Hey I'm not one to care or to compete with anyone. I'm here to share my knowledge and experience is all.
It's not about your yeild or even type of plant, its about the amount of power it took to get you there. Going more light per plant, is typically going to increase yeild and size. Autos aren't meant for huge harvests from a few plants, they are meant for quick returns. I'm sure I could get very similar results if I spent as much as the value of equipment you have. And Id set up a real room half vert half led with your 3800 watts and pull a minimum (I always assume something will happen like mites, aphids, molds, etc) of 3000 grams off photoperiod plants. Or id grow a single 4 lb plant so I can brag about how I wasted my space, time, and money too.
Again congrats on your successful auto experiment or whatever, but still biggest waste of everything Ive seen in a while.
And PS, breeders aren't reliable for shit. They sell seeds. Even if they should be feminized and from a single plant, there are so many possible phenos, geno's, and mutations. Seedbanks have thrown out straight males, and non stabilized autos, and even some wierder things.
With the ridiculous amount of light you used though,I fully believe they're autos. You'd have yeilded 20% more minimum in that setup if they were photoperiod and grown with any training techniques.
