Sorry for the rant in my last post, didn't mean to hijack your thread Apical Bud, I seem to be doing that lately, I apologize and to show my sincerity I'm going to share with you the key ingredients for the most delicious Foil Wrapped Chicken EVER!!! I see lots of recipes online but there all different from each other in some way, if you use these ingredients you really can't go wrong, its the marinade & cooking method that really makes this recipe stand out, anyway, the key ingredients are: Hoisin sauce= I use one 7oz jar of Dynasty per/lb of chicken thighs (dark meat is more tender, has more flavor and tastes a lot better than white meat in foil wrap recipes IMHO), Oyster Sauce= 3-6 tbsp per/lb, Sesame Oil= 1-4 tbsp per/lb (depending on how much you like sesame Oil, Yum!, Yum!), Soy Sauce= 3-6 tbsp per/lb, Ginger Root= 1 slice, shredded per/lb (discard if a piece is found in foil pouch), Garlic= 1-3 cloves per/lb minced or pressed, Scallions= 1-2 per/lb minced, Cilantro= 6-12 sprigs per/lb, Green Onion= 1-2 per/lb chopped, Chinese 5-Spice= 1/4 tsp per/lb, Salt & Pepper (if you use a lot of soy or dark soy you can skip the salt), mix these ingredients up and put in a sealable container in the fridge to marinate for a minimum of 6hrs, I marinate for about 24-36hrs and its amazing. Now your either going to need to cut your own foil squares or buy the pre made ones, once the chicken is done marinating fold up individual portions in the foil squares, I like to add a sprig of fresh cilantro to each wrap, make sure to fold the ends up on its self until its nice and tight, now heat up a wok, pan or deep fryer with PEANUT OIL (You can use other oil but IMHO Peanut Oil is a MUST!!), make sure its good and hot and be ready for the wraps to expand like 3 times there size when there frying. Fry them just long enough for the chicken to cook through (about 3-6min depending on the size of wok, pan, deep fryer & how many wraps you cook at once) and then take them out and let them drain and cool for just a few minutes (you want to serve them nice and hot but you don't want to serve them scalding of course) Once cooled (but not too cool), sit back, pop open your favorite beverage and enjoy the best foil wrap chicken you've every had. When your good and baked and have a serious case of the munchies, try some of these I shit you not your tongue will have an orgasm. If you try the recipe let me know how it goes, take care and Happy Holidays.
