very new to growing as I have 2 plants under my belt and one of those plants I cut down 2 weeks ago 4 weeks into flower because I thought it had turned hermie, and the other plant is "almost finished". The plant I made mistake on and cut down was a Delicious Candy aka Cheese Candy from Delicious Seeds and it was a very good growing plant. Even though I made mistake by cutting it down, I took advantage of my mistake and went ahead and practiced some drying and curing. I was able to harvest 23 grams dry from that plant and have smoked some of it with a couple friends who seem to like it even though it is very immature bud. It doesnt give a headache but instead gives a fairly heady high for a short duration of about 15-30 minutes,,,,not to shabby for a mistake in my opinion and even though definitely not primo bud, it is to good to just waste it....
but to your 75% amber experiment....as stated I am a new grower to the game and all but I have been researching this drying/curing information on this forum pretty heavily since I am very close to harvesting my remaining plant.....seems to be a toss-up between people harvesting when trichomes are mostly cloudy to mostly cloudy with some amber..i have seen everything from 10% thru 30% amber being suggested. Most important fact I have taken away from this whole amber trichome color is that it represents the fact that THC is degrading.....im not sure what effect 75% amber trichomes would represent for smokeable bud but it sounds like an awful lot of degraded THC to my inexperienced knowledge. Interested in what results are though if you do go ahead with the experiment to harvest at 75% amber.
