There are too many variables to discuss trimming without knowing your set-up. Depends on how much room you have,
what lights you're using and a host of other factors.
Harvesting is pretty straight forward. You have to have a small, handheld microscope with a light in it. Get them on eBay for $10.
Find a post here on identifying trichomes and learn what to look for. The tri's start out clear and turn milky then dark when they mature.
You want to wait to harvest until the tri's have mostly turned at least milky. I use a small pair of manicure scissors for harvesting as they give
you the most control in tight spots. I put my newly trimmed buds on a paper towel placed over a 16 x 25 x 1-inch furnace filter. This allows
air to surround your bud and facilitates faster even drying. I leave the bud on the filter for usually 3 days, then I put it into an open dish for another 24 hours.
By now the bud is mostly dry and is ready to cure. Curing is important as it allows the bud to have the same amount of moisture throughout the bud. If
you didn't cure, your small buds would be crispy and the larger ones damp. So after drying for 3 or 4 days I seal the bud in an air-tight glass bottle. Caning jars with the rubber gasket
are perfect. Put the jar in the 'fridge for 24 hours sealed. This spreads whatever moisture is still present throughout the bud. Makes it uniform. After 24 hours open
the jar and check. If still too damp leave the jar open and unsealed for 24 hours for more drying. By then you should be pretty close to dry and cured.
