Harveys Makin' Bubble Hash (first time) Why freeze and grate it?

Just made some bubble for the first time. it air-dried for about 18 hours and is now in the freezer although i don't know why other than it will make it easier to grate which i also don't know why.

I got this stuff and don't know what I'm doing or even how to smoke it efficiently.
Anyone care to educate me please?


That was agitated with a potato masher for 10 mins one time. will do 2 more times later tonite if all goes as planned.

I really don't understand freezing and grinding, nor have I ever heard of it. The only time I've ever milled it down to fine sand was when blending with butter or coconut oil.
Lumps like in the photo will take several days to dry, and you mentioned your humidity at 50 to 60% it could take much longer. I chop up the product as best I can as soon as it's off the screen on a plate. And it still takes a full day or more to dry and my humidity is much dryer. Right now your just freezing the water inside.

Here's the last time I used the 120 bag along with the 73 160 and 45. Plate with the most on top is the 120 screen lessor plate was on the 73. Notice that the 73 is a lighter shade of tan, this is the better material, but I combine both for the final heating and pressing into hash. If you want the best don't add 160 and up or below 73.




As far as smoking the end product, I hate to admit it but at 60 I still smoke cigarettes, I take clean ash off the cig in a small hash pipe and place a BB sized piece on and let it melt into to the ash it's the best method I've found. I do the same with shatter.

The freezing/grinding thing was in a how-to-make-bubble video on youtube. I could not understand why.
Okay, so i took it out of the freezer, will let it thaw a bit & chop it up with a razor blade then let it dry a couple days.
meanwhile, i will try to learn how to press it and why.

And the only other piece of advice I have is clean your screens with Isopropyl alcohol after every use.
Keep on doing observing and learning.

to taste it I used this pipe.
Load two-thirds bowl-o-bud...


Then screw on top bowl with clean screen & add bubble...

That will work just give it something to soak into.

i prefer my bubble hash pressed together and it dont take a long time if its flattened

I have a pollen press i bought to press the kief from the bottom part of my grinder but it stuck to those plastic inserts and did not come out in a clean puck like i thought it would.
we just press it to form it back after chopping it to dry? when you say pressing... we are simply balling it back up?

Parchment paper if you have a press , i use my fingers to press it flat and it drys in like 8 hours im going to make some tomorrow and grate it specifically for joints , that thred wattsaver mentioned is pretty helpful

I strongly disagree with that whole thred that probably why it only has 2 pages , pressing it dose not degrade it and it only molds if you dont press all the water out of it and you put in in a jar without burping it every few days for 10 -20 mins

Gave a couple of 'em away but still have one more tub of trim to do.
These may be too dry already, still gotta go learn how to cure it but imagine it's just like weed.
So I cure it pressed like that? (for the next run)

Made some rosin for the first time with a hair straightener hahah this was some shitty bud that made dank rosin going to try to make it with the weed i grow that is super dank

Depending on the temperature its pressed at , above 315 it becomes shatter, below 315 its like sap , and its solvent free so no butane or other solvents

so you... what? sandwich the hash with parchment paper and squish it with the hair straightener on the highest setting? or does it need to be wrapped in some sort of screen material first? seems like i saw something like that once in a video.

Yeah thats all just press really hard for 3-8 seconds medium heat , my grandfather bought me a straightener this morning with only 2 setting high and low with a maximum of 400 degrees and it works good butits only 1 inch wide so i have to press smalll pieces, i plan on buying a +2 inch hair straightener with an actual temperature control settings not just high and low, Some people buy little metal 25u micron screens for placing the bud in when you press it to filter some stuff out , i dont use them and get a nice product

No problem haha just do little peices of bud at a time , some pressed keif works the best
