Has any one use Fox Farms Ocean potting soil?

Heard that the soil is some what "hot" and should do a 50/50 mix if use . also heard that one does not have to use nutrients thru out the grow. Confussed?

It can be too hot for seedlings. I been using it for 2 yrs no problems . But IM promix, HF and OF mix. Ppl just whine about the FF products bc they dont know how to use them....its not rocket science tbh

Thats all ive used both grows.my 2nd grow I just used old ffof soil for new seedlings

I use FFOF all the time, but I like to mix it with a peat based soil less mix. (like B'Cuzz)
mix 1:1 for clones and young plants
when I up-can, I go more FFOF
like 1:2 for veg, and 1:3 for flower.

As for Fox Farm running out of nutes....
When you up-can, you add more. so if you use a solo cup to root, then a 2g pot to veg, and a 5g pot to flower, your plants will never need any additional nutrients added to them.

It was a little bit hot for my seedlings (but only a LITTLE bit, a few nute burn spots here and there), once they took hold they seemed to love it. I'm just wrapping up my first real grow and I had some plants in roots organic and some plants in FFOF, but they were all started in party cups with FFOF. Could not tell a big difference between the two, but a more experienced grower might have been able to.

My plants seemed to like both soils very much. FFOF is a pretty good bet, maybe start the seedlings in something a little bit lighter on the nutes though

Same here. Been using it for a long time, no problems. I've heard people claim this forever now.

I'm on my first grow with Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. I used a 50/50 on half my plants with organic soil. The rest full ocean forest. I started with clones...worked beautifully. The soil provides 2 weeks of feeding. All my plants are thriving on week #3 flower. I also use tiger bloom for flower..at half dosage.

I use FFOF for my mothers, and once the soil is 2 months old I start feeding them FF Grow Big every other feeding, full dosage. Mothers under T5's 5gal smart pots and loving life.. only thing is I had to use Azamax, which worked almost instantly, once because the FFOF has some bugs in it that turn into flies.. weird. They never came back though after a full Azamax dosage.

FFOF user here. I used light warrior for my seeds, the up pot to ffof after that. every clone goes into FFOF w/o any issues. ive never had any major burn, only the very tip of the tips. but ALL my plants show that type of burn, all thru flower as well.
I add nutes after 6 weeks in veg. I grow in 5gal pots, and a couple 3gals.
1 bag FFOF
30% large perlite
2 cups powdered dolomite lime

mix and enjoy
