Has anyone ever done a SCROG outdoors in the bush?

I'm just going to throw this idea out there but has anyone ever tried to do a scrog outdoors in the bush? Make it with 2X4's and mesh screen. I thought of the idea and wondered if you'd get the same result as you would when you do scrog indoors. ANyone got any pictures if you have tried to do one outdoors? It might be a dumb idea, I don't honestly know...

No!!!! The best part of using the sun is it's penetration depth.

Did one a few years back, also again this year.
Don't make the screen too big as it's not fun to crawl under it come September...

Also I google image searched "outdoor scrog" to get an idea on how to make it....
I think I am going to use a bamboo frame to hold the screen up....

Some say no and some say yes...Hmmm. Senor Brown Water if I may ask you did you constantly have to weave the plant in and out of the mesh? Did you get a lot of uniform flowers? I guess you would lolipop underneath? Was it just one plant along your mesh or were there more than one? I'm curious still how this would end up at harvest time.

I wonder if it would more or less of a mold hazard?

I wouldn't bother. Like someone said, the sun doesn't need scrog to penetrate. Plus, the sun moved across the sky hitting different parts of the plant. Most outdoor growers keep them natural except for tying down to control height or topping

YES!!!! scrog is impractical outside. the idea is to keep most if not all of your bud site at a level canopy, utilizing space/light

Sea of Green (SoG) is a lot easier and much more practical outdoors than scrog. Check these pics out

This raised bed is about 1' wide by 5' long. In such a small space 25ish plants were planted.

After thinning males about 10-15 were left. Still a vary high density planting.

Here you can see the outside edges were tied down around the time flowering started to improve sun exposure (later on tie downs were removed)

By now the canopy has filled in nicely and buds are almost ready harvest due to the earliness of this particular strain. Several of these tree's were in the 6-8 foot range.

This may have been a small scale sog but I'd say it effectively shows the potential.

I'm planning on LSTing my outdoor plants this year.. I'm hoping that it helps out my yield a little. I wanted to scrog but I want it to be as stealthy as possible. Good luck this year!
