Hash Oil/Earwax Help?

ive been trying to make earwax hash for a few harvests now, but whenever i purge my BHO and try to whip it into wax, it hardens up into a cloudy glass consistency then kinda clears up. i cannot find an answer anywhere, but what is causing this stuff to harden and not become they fluffy budder i see all over the place?

i have absolutely no knowledge on how to make it but i've been buying it for a couple months now. i can remember the first couple times i got it, it was moldable and sticky, which was how i liked it. the last five or six times i've got it, its really hard and crunchy/chunky, really hard to work with. all from the same place too i dunno what happened.

The stuff I've made definitely hardens up a bit when whipping it and eventually almost feels
like it drys out into the wax. From reading some people say that some strains just take longer
to budder up than others, but I have no idea as to the truth of this as I've never measured the
time. I assume your using one of those candle melter to whip the concentrate?

Personally I prefer stuff that has a consistency of taffy as it is easy to setup dabs and still malleable
by hand if need be.

when your whipping it up... it depends on where your stop...you take it to far it dries up

golden oil will budder faster than amber

this stuff is essentially what dispensaries sell as 'glass hash'. its really good, i just cant work with it very well. it breaks and flies across the room like chunks of glass. i needs me that budder, next batch is gonna go down suuuuuper slow and low temp

i find the stages are like this, spray into pyrex, bubbley and sticky, once all bubbles pop and scrapped together w razor its stickier than oil but chunky. heat and whip over LOW heat, it kinda taffys up, lil longer on LOW heat lil more whipping then let set and u will visibally see the amber stage, if u pull it off the heat and put it in jars its gonna suck tryin to get it out, its glass now or amber call it what u will. put it back on LOW heat and let it melt into a pool and start gentally whipping for ten to twenty seconds and let it visabally change states again. now its wax quickly with a razor and ceramic plate that isnt hot, scrape all goodness on to ceramic plate as it will transfer heat out of the wax fast, thus keeping the hash in the state which u so desire. one more time back into the pyrex = what im calling nutella. perfect for rolled hash balls in bowls on dabbers for hash rope joints, u name it. i prefer the flavor of the wax. the inital run is SOOOOO strong, the glass and the wax are the middle of the road as far as taste and ease of use, and the nutella is the calmest. if u could make it to your oiler you could smoke it all day and still be able to do things BAKED outta your mind. the other three kinda space rocket you to some other time/space equilebrium. ill post pics and if u want help drop a line~waxy 024.jpg

chef i tried your suggestions but it still keeps settling out to glass. every time i whip it to something close to some waxes at the stores, it puddles back up. never comes close to the budder in that pic. im gonna try a new batch within the week. all suggestions/tips/advice is greatly welcomed

Just curious but how long are you whipping for? The heating/whipping process is what is going to help
it to change it's consistency, so it shouldn't simply settle back to it's old form. With enough whipping/heating
it should eventually harden out and flake off.

imho it needs longer. pool that shit back up, "whip" or stir for 45-60 sec, pretty fast, back n forth some circles or whatever, keeping the pool at least an eigth of an inch thick. watch it close!!! the second u see it go from shiny to matte, count to three and take it off your heating element w a razor and put it on a plate to cool. its ready for your favorite dome, and for u to call your friends and brag. take pics and post so we can help more~

chef- so this morning it didnt settle back to glass, more of a toffee. im gonna keep going on it and see where it gets me, ill try to take pics, gotta find a camera. i think its getting there

ive read that certain strains budder differently, i made this batch out of a very mixed collection of mainly sativas. same thing with my last batch too, the glass is chronic as hell, but those dry wax clumps are so much easier to deal with. i just harvested some chocolate chunk and some purple kush which ill be running soon, indicas apparently budder easier? we'll see, as for now ill keep whippin. much thanks

success!!! heres my orange urkle (orange velvetxpurple urkle). im pretty sure the problems i was having was from doing mixed strains, this buddered up after about an hour of whipping and actually stays consistent. thank you all for your quick responses, very helpful indeed.

So whats the step befor you start to whip it ....whats BHO mean
