Having trouble keeping box cool...

I've got a 3hx2dx3w box that I built. I had originally hooked up 2 pc fans as exhaust and just a hole in the opposite side as a passive intake. I've got 4 26w 6500k CFLs. Finally got a thermometer yesterday and temps hover around 90 with lights on and I figured that was a bit high. I went to Home Depot today and got a 270cfm inline fan that is moving a ton of air out of the box but it has only lowered the temp to 88-89. What else can I do to cool this thing down? I'm afraid the temps are too high. They are about 75 with lights off. I've also got a fan inside the box to circulate the air. Any suggestions?

My plants are looking great. They germinated and I planted them in soil on July 1. They sprouted through the dirt on July 3rd and today they are probably about 1 1/2" and looking healthy.

It's pretty crazy that your getting so much heat off of 4 26watts. What is the temperature in the room around your box?

I thought the same thing. It's in my basement but it's been overly hot here lately, high 90's. I'd say it's probably 78-80 down there now. It's supposed to be in the low to mid 80s this coming week so I'm hoping that the basement will cool down.

Is 90* going to kill my plants?

Ok, cool. That makes me feel better. They are drying out fairly quickly but I am keeping a close eye on them. Hopefully the temps will get a little cooler this next week. Being my first grow, I was just a little worried about it. Thanks guys.

Your running into the same problem that I was a few weeks ago!! My plants grew very well in 85-90 degree temps. I've now moved them in my closet for more room and cooler temps but you should be fine.

The main thing that I found out with cooling a cab or box or whatever you want to call it, is the ambient temp of the room its in. I was right at about 78-80 in the room aswell with 92 being the highest in the cab.
