Headshop, im excited

Hey guys, I'm planning on opening an online head shop, i have some really great ideas that i think will make the browsing the best out there. one of my ideas that i will tell before the website starts, is i plan on making a mirror website, but for all the new people to the glass world... they don't really know specific names of bowls and bongs, so i hope my website designer will be able to aide me in creating the best website for beginners, while also having an easy to browse, informative page for the advanced and average smoker. i wanted to know some feed back on what you guys think about it.

I plan on running it out of my house, i have a spare bedroom that I am going to turn into a mini warehouse once my actual website launches and it has been able to gain popularity, that i will begin with the spare bedroom. I want to install, 3 floor to ceiling shelves in about 75% of the room, put a desk with the computer i am going to run the website and orders through, along with a standard printer, a label maker, and other necessities. and last but not least, i have an HD camera that works very well and i want to create a photo shoot set up in the closet so i will be able to take great pictures of my collection for the web.


I have a couple questions to ask about your share of browsing and buying online.
If you had any problems with any sites (do not respond if you are talking badly about a specific store)

-What were the problems? If you were to start a head shop online, how would you fix the problems you have run into in the past?

-Any suggestions on how to set up the browsing? anything you guys think might help make everything a lot easier?

-Should i include not only glass but accessories too?

Another note: everyone here on RIU has treated me great, so if you are a glass blower looking to sell glass, I will be interested in buying it, if you are willing to settle for whole sale, and if the staff and i like it, we will be back to buy more if your willing to, and if your into glass blowing and plan on doing it for a while, we can go into contract for a constant purchase, we will also be more then happy to buy glass from people who are only looking for 1 or 2 sales...
As for one more business opportunity, we will help glass blowers that are looking to create there own website to sell there own glass, start up and get a business running, and also cheap promotion on our page, with links to your website.


My website is not going to be a high priced scam, I don't only plan on selling glass through it, I also plan on helping other people promote, and sell, their own glass through the website with a very small monthly fee, not sure yet. i might want to charge $1 - $10 a month to have your account and sell your own glass. I am either going to have a $1-$2 fixed monthly fee, while charging 2-5% of your total monthly revenue generated from you running your own small headshop through a large one.

Are you familiar with Tommy Chong getting arrested for selling bongs over the internet? I think they made a documentary on it actually. Not trying to scare you, but If I were you, I would be deeply investigating the legal aspect of an online head shop. Mark emery is currently in prison, simply because he was selling marijuana seeds to the united states from Canada.

Of course, if i were to do it i would do it the right and legal way, I am starting to have second thoughts, the only reason is that the law in florida states only 25% of total income may be from glass. so i am not sure yet i need to look into it more

The only reason he was arrested is because a prospective customer from a backward county in Pennsylvania acting as a head shop owner was looking to buy a mass order of glass. They realized that county had a law against sending paraphernalia through the mail. They informed the customer that they could not send the order and the customer was extremely upset. He kept bugging them and bugging them and I believed they had the order already ready by the time they canceled it after a long tug of war they gave in and sent it to the guy. The guy ended up being a fed and then used that statute to enforce federal law. As long as you sell tobacco pipes and devices and make sure that who you ship to does not reside in a outlawed area you should be good. Just saying its not a lost hope at all totally doable.
