I'm just finishing a grow and thinking of getting a bigger tent 3m x 1.5m x 2m and it's approaching summer hear in the uk so the weather wil be alot hotter.. I'm wondering what size fan and carbon filter to use to keep the temps down and deal with the smell of 10 large plants? I was thinking maybe 8" but want to be sure that's big enough and do I need another smaller fan blowing air into the tent? Any help would be much appreciated

u forgot some info

1 what light are u using
2 is the room going to be AC.......or is it going Natural air the whole time

next u are talking about a powered intake
1 is your house smokers (other then weed) do u have any issuse with mold or ppl in your area doing the same thing as u
2 are u trying to match the CFMs to keep a strait pressure ( do u care if the tent concaves and looks like a public open air art project)

8" should be plenty powerful if you get a quality one, make sure to get an appropriately sized carbon filter as well. With tents, the key to smell control is maintaining negative pressure so that the tent has a "sucked in" look. If you can get a fresh air intake that could deliver some cooler air than that of the tent inside then I'd say go for it. Use a 4" or 6" fan for intake so that it is less CFM than your filter fan. You might be able to get away with passive intake, which I would give a try first.

I will have 2 cooled 1000w lights in 20 ltr airpots and going to try subcools super soil. I mean will it be a good idea to have an intake fan sucking in cool air from the window or just one big fan sucking the air out I can't afford AC, oh and it will be 10 plants I'm not bothered what the tent looks like really.

So if I have a smaller fan pulling air in then it's more likely to smell as it's not negative draught.. Ok makes sense thankyou maybe I can get a small enough intake fan so that it's still negative draught and helps with temps.. I'llgive it a go I have a few small fans already so will do a few tests and try to aim for the sucked in tent look for smell control. Thanks alot for your info.
