Heatsink question

After a research for buying 2 heatsinks for 2 vero 29 i found these http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/NX300160/1061-1155-ND/4215392 which is suitable for my led's and i think in very good price 20$ each.But in the data sheet of manufacture is including a fan with the heatsink i dont know if digikey including the fan...
any thought about this heatsinks?can be enough my led's ?i know that is suitable and desind for vero 29 but i'm asking this because most led DIYer's here are using huge heatsinks

You need to buy the synjet fan suited to that heatsink. Check the manufacturers website for the model number. Digikey should have it.

Large heatsinks are handy for big grows because you can install a few COBs on each and reduce the amount of things that need to be hung and to some extent it simplifies wiring. But for smaller grows CPU coolers may be more appealing and they certainly are cheap. These coolers with 92mm fans are awesome and only $10.

If you want to use one large heatsink with one fan to mount a pair of COBs, you could use this 5.886" profile X 12" length ($30 shipped) and a 140mm fan ($10).

i see...i think that i will order the heatsinks only and i will adjust a 120mm that heatsink has 120mm mountinge holes already thanks for the advise

i think the best way for me is the pc heatsikns so i need only psu those 2...what can i use to power them?

If you run them at 9V they will be pretty quiet. If you run them at 12V still not too bad. I would suggest a high quality 9V PSU, something along these lines or this.

thanks for your help the only think i have to do is to drill the headsink to mount the cob with thermal paste of course

You can drill it and use a COB holder which is very nice, but not required to get the job done. I flattened this heatsink to 1000 grit US and mounted the COB with Prolimatech PK3. This will give you the ultimate thermal transfer. The kapton tape is just to ensure it stays put.

bridgelux has already a plastic cob holder (or somethink like that) thanks for the usefull tips!!
