Heavy metals in cannabis grown indoors

firstly, it says the the p in npk, is a natural chelater, and attracts many toxic elements and heavy metals.. but some how magically the p that advanced nutrients uses doesn't have the same properties?? complete and utter bs..

I thought the Advanced Nutrients people were just trying to sell me their stuff so I challenged them on their claims.

They sent me a scientific paper with lab results and other data showing that marijuana plants grown with their fertilizers are cleaner and higher-yielding, with more THC and other cannabinoids.

I always do a thorough crop flush just before harvest, but I learned that’s not enough to protect me and other people who consume my buds.

So I switched to Advanced Nutrients for my marijuana nutrients, because I don’t want to glow in the dark!

simply laughable..

lastly, learn about mobile and immobile nutrients in plants, and how dumping x amount of water through a medium such as soil does nothing to "flush" out these nutrients..

Thanks @racerboy71 for clearing that up. I'm happy to realize its just an advertisement in disguise. I was actually worried. I know that the plant converts nutrients into organic chemicals or terpenes, whatever you want to call them. The part that made the most sense, and frightened me the most was when they categorize cannabis as an "accumulator plant" storing and converting the resources taken up from the grow medium.

Well done. I agree AN is a lot of smoke in mirrors. Take any plant biology 101 and you can see that AN's claims don't stand up to science. Unless they really do have some magic P. I bet they got it from the same dude that sold Jack his beanstalk seeds lol

Yeah total bs. The build up of hard metals would kill the plants if was really that bad. It is 100% natural for plants to lock up metals and minerals within the plant cells. Thats how they grow, create new cells and develop flowers. Now there are some supplements sold like a particular bud sweller that I have heard is bad for you but i do t think its made anymore. If tap water has been giving you good results then why mess with it.

i like add my lead based soldering wastes and copper wire clippings to the soil blocks for seed starting. i put them in an air tight chamber with a drop of mercury placed in the center of an aluminum plate with the oxide layer removed. they love it.

Right now I'm flushing my plant with tap water at 6.5pH, but since I live in the city there could be harmful particles in my tap water. Is this something to be worried about?

Put a good filter on your tap water if you are worried.

Anyone think that Alaska grow and bloom fertilizer with fish in it may contain mercury? If it come from the pacific ocean it has worse stuff that that.

Fukishima is totally f***king the Pacific Ocean. No one talks about it and it still is not fixed and never will be fixed. If you are anywhere near the west coast you should be more concerned about Fukishima.

You are absolutely right, that Fukishima diaster is really fucking the Pacific ocean up. Fish off the coast of California have high levels of toxicity. Yeah the government said that it's safe to eat but when was the last time you trusted anything they said. I read the the Fukishima plant is creating 200 tons of radioactive water every day. Eventually it will contaminate the entire Pacific. It was avoidable too. Who was the genius that decided to build a nuclear power plant on an ocean front property in an area known for being one of the most active places on earth for earthquakes. Just another example of corporate greed killing the innocent.
