Hello, and a little about me

Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself and give a little background. I have been lurking here on RIU and other boards for more than a year and just recently started posting here in an effort to connect with other patients in my area. I was a little leery of posting, but then I figured that I’m a legal patient and just took some precautions like using something called hotspot shield so that nobody would actually know what my IP address is. I started smoking again about 3 years ago when my doctor recommended that I try some natural remedies for my disabling condition. Prior to this time I hadn’t smoked in over 20 years-boy have things changed! I’m in my early 40’s now and spent most of my adult life in the Army. When I was medically discharged I went from one medication to another for about 4 years with nothing really working. Through the use of cannabis, I am able to alleviate the symptoms associated with my condition and live a semi-normal life.

When all of the dispensaries in the area started getting shut down I tried using the delivery services, but was not real impressed with the drivers that showed up at my door. I started growing last fall and did 3 grows (Ace of Spades, SSH, bag seed from a friend, and something called Air Force One) before I quit for the summer due to the extreme heat. I usually grow 4-6 plants under a 600w light in a 4x4 cabinet that I built in the garage. I’m trying to figure out what upgrades that I want to do before I start growing again in the fall. Right now I’m weighing the additional cost and benefits of going perpetual. Growing has turned into kind of a hobby and I enjoy sharing my thoughts with others and hearing what they have to think. I know a few other people that grow, but they all grow outdoors, so they have been of little help because their concerns are very different than mine.

I have a lot of free time and have recently taken up guitar playing as an additional hobby. I have always enjoyed listening to music and the guitar just seemed like a natural progression. I have a Yamaha acoustic and have been learning the chords and practicing for about a month now. Progress is slow, but I’m enjoying the journey. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask…

Thanks Dan. I already have aircooled lights, and am not willing to pay the extra electricity that it would take for an AC unit for the plants-It would be running constantly.
