Hello all,

I am a first time grower.
I recently got rid of the apartment I was growing in and I have rented out a barn on my friends property. The barn is made of steal. I have a few questions about the setup. Any advice is appreciated.

I am going to grow it indoors(in the barn). It is about a 14 x 14 x 8 foot barn(estimate). The barn is actually bigger than that, I am only using about 2/5s of the barn area for now. Ill be using 3 1000 watt lights, and itll be only for flower. (veg somewere else)

Here are the questions:)

1.I want to maybe black out the whole room(there are a few cracks of light through the barn), what is the best way to do this? for example what kind of material do I need?

2. There is dirt on the ground, do i need to cover this with something? maybe tarp???

3. I plan on using CO2 tanks, what are good ways to seal the room to meep the co2 in.

4. I have to clean the barn, there are alot of bugs in there right now, What is a good way to clean it? Should I use chemicals or something?

anyways any help is appreaciate. any tips are helpful too:)

First time grower at 3000 watt's? Dude I would buy a 4x4 grow tent, stick 1-1000 in and learn from there. Veg somewhere else? Silly man! Buy a separate tent for veg in same barn. Simple man!:peace:

You have all sorts of issues. 3000w of HPS is enough for 75 sqft or about a 8x9 space. In a 14x14 space you will need about 8000w of lights.

Now if you really want to use CO2, you need to increase the lighting even more, instead of 5000-7500 lumens per sqft you want a minimum of about 9000 lumens per sqft or 12,000w.

I would just cover the floor with panda plastic or bubble mylar.

You can frame up simple cheap walls (even ceiling if required) and staple mylar to the framing to build your grow area.

Finally venting/temp control, do you have a plan? For 14x14 you will probably want 2 or more 8" fans and filters to handle exhaust and scent.

First off make sure your friend knows you plan to grow on his property or that you can lock it up.

Awnsers
1-3 buy a roll of 4 mil black plastic (in your case a 10'x100'x4mil) sheeting for the walls, floor and maybe ceiling. Buy the 100' roll so you have one piece for the whole wall. This makes everything easier. You should also do the ceiling if it's not flat. Seal along the seams with duck tape (the good stuff the cheap crap falls of after awhile). Now you have a pretty much airtight bubble.
Throw some space blankets on the wall, put in a door or Light Tite Zipper, some anchor points for lights and your all set.

I agree with Nomofatum about the lights.

ohhhh fun

first off u are in a steel barn heat is going to be a huge factor ....along with your IR singal from the air

4th ? bomb it lay down the chemicals make a mine feild with sprays and powders other stuff cover the whole dirt area inside the barn one time everything dirt gets hit (spiders in the upper parts are good they kill flying bug)

the rest of this is going to cost u a pretty penny
u need to build a room inside the barn ..........the only way to effectly use Co2 and keep the air temps cool and to hide u
this takes care of getting off the dirt (now a mine feild of chemicals to kill any crawling bug)
when u build the room u use poly wrap (home depot paint area 20x100ft 6 mil thick polywrap) u can do all the walls in one sheet then u need to use some on the floor( u are making a tub for co2 to pool in) .....seal it all off use caulk over the staples to the framing ...then use drywall ontop of that

on the outside of the room u are going to need IR block it

ceiling and walls (do not try to seem it together over lap by a inch or 2 ) .........this stuff will block the cops from seeing the heat from the area your barn might have a warmer inside air temp then others but it would not glow on the screen
