Help! 2 autos in bloom, 1 just won't stop veggin'

Hello ladies and lads, I'm hoping I can get a bit of your help.

Firstly, I've been lurking and learning around here for a little while now and I just want to say a big thanks to this awesome community. It's really really inspiring to see how much everyone helps each other and how much everyone cares for their babies!

Secondly... here's my little dilemma. I'm a total newbie doing her first grow. I have three AK-49 autoflowering girls under CFLs on an 18/6 light schedule. They are ending their 5th week since germ.

Here's the problem: two of the girls bloomed almost two weeks ago and, despite looking a bit runty, appear healthy and hairy. But the third one... hasn't bloomed at all! This is despite being bigger than the other two girls and seemingly healthy. Doh!

I've read plenty of stories about crappy autoflowers not being auto at all and needing to be triggered.

My question is as follows: can I flip ALL the plants to a 12:12 schedule if some are already in bloom? Will it hurt my already blooming girls in any way?

Thanks guys! Really appreciate any help :-)

Sounds like you have 2 auto flowering and one photo.....you can flip to 12/12 however autos do best with 24hrs light under cfl.....so two of your plants would suffer....if i were you i would place the non auto in a dark cupboard of 12 hours every day....then back under cfl for 12....

make sure cub bard is pitch black inside...

good luck..

Thanks much! I think I will try that.

Do you think once she blooms I can put her back on the long light schedule with the other girls - or is that a really bad idea? I'm not worried about big yields if that matters.

I would say go ahead and take it back to 18/6 once it flowers but watch for signs of it going hermie - ie gets male pollen sacks also and self pollinates. Unless you don't mind shuffling it every day until finish - that would be the safest option.

I dont know much about auto's as Ive only grown one but if it doesn't have the auto flower gene would it not just revert back to veg if moved back to 18?

I agree with Lemon, sounds like one is photoperiod. Not a bad thing necessarily...just have more to play with. If it is auto, it should be throwin pistils like mad at 5 weeks. Just keep an eye on it or be prepared to transport back and forth to a dark area...good luck fren.

I had a similar problem, I started my girls on 24hrs/day 400watt MH for vegging em out. Then when they got to my desired height for them, I switched to 400watt HPS 12on/12off, and like magic, on the 10th day, most of them changed into flower stage! But one of my ladies just didn't want to change! I found out that she was getting just a tiny bit of light when I went in there to check stuff out. A tiny break during the dark time was the problem, the dark period is REALLY sensitive, like even a fucking FLASHLIGHT can throw it off.
The dark period can NOT be interrupted for even a second, or the hormones that change it out of veg, into flower stage won't be produced!
Also, it takes 10 - 14 days IN A ROW of uninterrupted dark period to make the change happen. Like on the 9th day of the 12on/12off cycle, if a fuck-up happens and the 12off period is interrupted for even a second, you have to start the process all over again. With autoflower, I would say that the 6 hr dark period is even more vulnerable!
