301b diodes? Mean we’ll driver? How much? Cost to ship all the way across USA?
Probably the best light for 400 bucks. Not sure diodes, yes shitwell driver. 600 watts. Not sure price to ship. Might want to add reds though and some other colors. Has nothing on hps as is.

Been considering a cmh. How are the heat issues? Will I need extra exhaust?
3 vertical phantom cmh with external ballast in a 4x8, 8" exhaust fan to filter, 4" intake fan. the temperature in tent is 1º warmer then the room.
All year round...northeast usa...A?C on in the summer.

I agree with Joe and Freak, get a Dimmable 1000 watt hps/mh ballast with an air cooled hood plus a 600 watt hps bulb. And a carbon filter, an inline fan to handle air exchange and smell. You should be able to get all that from Ama-zon for your $400.

Adjust the dimmable ballast down to 600 watts and run that for awhile to be sure you can deal with heat/air exchange. When you're sure you're ready for more, just turn the ballast up 1000 and switch to the big bulbs.

After a grow or two you can upgrade to fancy bulbs for awhile.

The equipment will pay for itself in no time. In a the future if you want to mess with led or cmh you'll have enough funds to get the good stuff.

I’m not sure that’s how a dimmable works.

Edit: At least that is not how mine works, a 1000 watts dimmable ballast still requires a 1000 watts bulb regardless of how much you dim in. I never dim mine and actually switch it out with a 600 watt ballast and bulb set for vegging.
