HELP! Can you use fresh non flushed plant trim for edibles?

I've read a couple posts now saying that cutting off all fan leaves before harvest can stun or slow the plant growth due to the fact that the leaves trap the energy now it does seem like the growth has slowed, so at this point should I just leave the plants alone hope for more fan leaves to grow out and wait on the buds to bulk up?

Technically by the 28th on average with this strain the flower process should be done but the buds are still quite small
