Help Configure my stealth grow cabinet

So I need some help, I already have a 120 grow light, mylar reflective blankets, soil, Personal fan and cabinet.


Now I need to make this stealth, my parents can't know, and it can't smell.


I need someone who knows which is the best odour remover. and perhaps some tips on circulation.


Here is my blueprint:





can anyone recommend where and how to get good air ventilation?

Do you have any place to vent out to ? like an attic or a window?
I know some of those guys that grow in PC cases should be able to help here.

Tiny cabinet to work with. Will have to use something like a cluster of (4) 35w CFLs. Not sure what your 120 growlight is. Is that your CFL (actual rather than equiv. to 120 watt?) that shows up in the bottom right corner of your photo? I'd use more than just one to get acceptable results. Anything other than CFLs will be unworkable height and heat wise to finish out any bud in that small of a unit. You wouldn't need the personal fan you sketched in. And just one 12V PC fan mounted on the back near a top corner for exhaust out the cabinet would be all that's needed, with just (2) 1" holes near the bottom corners in the back for passive fresh air intakes. It helps if you have a PC in your bedroom so the fan won't sound out of the ordinary to your parents. One of those holes can double as access for the cabinet's power supply wiring. Some like the mylar, but actually painting the inside with ultra flat white works more effectively at diffusing the light evenly while avoiding hot spots mylar blankets can create. Mount a power strip under and along one of the frame pieces if poss, or just inside the cabinet along the bottom to plug in light timer and the AC/DC 12V converter for the fan, so just one cord will be coming out the 1" hole and plugged into a wall receptacle. With that small a unit and maybe only two plants or so, you can probably get away with one or two small neg. ion generators on the floor hidden behind the cabinet somehow. This all being said, the reality is it will still be quite difficult to have your parents not find out what you're up to sooner or later regardless. given the parameters of what you're working with and what I imagine your living arrangements might be, you're taking a substantial risk having your secret get out beyond your control. All it takes is one slip or an unexpected moment when a parent unexpectedly walks in while you've got that cabinet door open and... Once the cat's out of the bag.-?

how about you man up and get your own place? show a little respect.growing behind mommy's back is a shitty thing to do to her. its her house so she can make the rules. an adult would respect her rules or get out.

Yes I understand, I am growing autoflower so it is something I am growing quick. My parents respect my privacy and know I smoke weed, they buy me bob marley stuff because they don't think marijuana is bad, however I haven't talked to them about growing it. I'm pretty sure If I keep this in a corner and just open it when water is needed they wont find out.

I doubt you're even 18+.... you wont be able to rid the smell of the plant. Just smoking let alone growing in the same home as someone you don't want to know about the plant is a bad idea. Only a matter of time before they discover your secrets. A cabinet that large will be noticed. Imo, your only possible way to grow in a home with parents and not get caught is either a stealth pc grow or telling them you'll split the crops ;). Get your nerd on and make them think you are good with pc's and used one for parts and voila! you have a non-noticeable stealth pc. But seriously. . . Its only a matter of time till they catch on. Mommy or daddy will bring in laundry or wonder why there's a lock or try to bring you a snack or come talk with you. True story. The smell cant be 100% tamed without a REAL carbon filter. DIY only works so long and before you know it one day late in flowering the aroma will make it's way out. Tried plenty of store brand odor gels myself and they only complement the skunky aroma. Fresh clean linen weed, yum! :) Hope I helped and you make your decision wisely.

Yea i use those lights in my smaller cab and they are real nice. Just be careful as when an auto or any plant is in flower they will really put out quite a bit of smell and that smell will find a way out of your little cab.

I already invested $200+ on this project and I don't want to back down. It can easily be hidden n my room without much suspicion, I also bought autoflower seeds so they should grow fast and I am only growing 1 at a time so the smell will be minimum especially since its northern lights.:

If you're being honest with yourself about how they really feel about cannabis and your smoking it anyway, it might be a better idea to just be open and honest with them about your ideas. Sometimes just trying to keep it a secret would cause a negative reaction when they likely find out about it eventually anyway. While it would most likely have a better chance of becoming something your parents would find acceptable or tolerable if you are up front about it with them. Any sort of sneaking around will undoubtedly seem to fit the anti-marijuana propaganda profile pumped in the media you'd most likely want to avoid, particularly with your parents. The subtleties around this whole argument can make a bigger difference than you may expect. Heck, presented in the right light (ie: growing your own is safer and less expensive than dealing with your friend's attitudes), your parents may want to help by suggesting the use of a whole closet where more stealth and security can be employed to keep everyone happy. Good luck!

BTW: Northern Lights can have more odor than you'd expect. Some phenos reek.

Man that is such a tiny cabinet. I went super redneck with mine and bought a 1190mm(L) x 945mm(w) x 430mm(d) shipping container for my grow: $10. Using the back of chip packets for the mylar. At first i soldered the live wires to the 23w cfl's because the batten holders were $7 and i needed 8 of them, but that was way too gnarly so i brought the batten holders later on.

Just remember that heat rises so have the exhaust at the very top, and intake at the bottom, with decent 12v fans. Make sure your box is 100% light proof when the lamp is off because if you're using feminized seeds they could turn into hermis with the slightest bit of light leakage. If you don't want to be snapped, keep it near a window. My shipping container was tall enough for the exhaust fan to blow directly out the windows so i was sweet. If you can get power under your house just forget this whole stealth grow and build a cardboard grow box under the house. Then you won't have to worry about smell, size ect... just have a secure box that keeps humidity at the right level and is bug proof.

Here's another idea that may be an option if your parents were to be ok with it, but a closet or the cabinet you're going with just doesn't fill the adequate stealth bill to their liking. Years ago I converted a used chest of drawers from Value Village ($35) into a sweet super stealthy grow chamber. Removing the drawers, leaving a virtually open box, I mounted the drawer fronts to a piece of finish plywood stained to match that fit to the opening replicating the original furniture's look. Strips of trim around the inside of the opening acted as stops for the false front plywood 'door', and also helped avoid any light leaks beaming out the edges. While one middle drawer's knobs were modified into stealthy 1/4 turn latches to hold the false front door pnl. in place. Inside I painted all surfaces ultra flat white. And powered the box with (2) 150w HPS mounted vertically to a homemade adjustable hood. (2) 12V PC fans in the upper corners at the back and (3) 1" holes in the back near the bottom provided plenty of air exchange to keep the lights and all cool enough. Obviously I used her for a bloom unit and divided it with (4) Hindu Kush (56 day) plants per side for a monthly perpetual harvest of about 4-5 oz. Several negative ion generators sufficiently kept odors in check. And a 5000btu window AC kept our bedroom cool in the summer. We lived in an apartment complex with a lot of problematic drug activity. So the managers were on top of everything with their eagle eyes and bloodhound noses. They even had bi-yearly walk thru inspections to check on things. And none were the wiser

Got your problem solved,
 You move in with me and my wife, and my 17 and 20 year old move in with your parents.
Then will have a whole extra beroom to grow in. I can then blow off the secret grow under the stairs
and you can blow off the little Cabinet grow:-P....just an ideal......lol
