Help Diagnose My Two Week Old Plants

Hello everyone, I'm growing in a tent in an uninsulated room: https://www.rollitup.org/t/uninsulated-room-tent-grow.929852/#post-13229968

1) See Pics Below of same plant. Other plant is identical.
2) Growing indoor/outdoors
3) Watering: watered about every three days, when top 2" was crusty, but never watered until run-off. Filtered water at pH 6.8
4) Growing Medium: Summit Soils Basecamp
5) What stage of growth: Exactly two weeks today
6) Feminized white widow





So these two look very small for 14 days, correct? This is my first non-auto grow. I have read a bunch, but I can't figure out what may be wrong. It looks like over-watering, nitrogen burn, nutrient deficiency. The leaves are curled up and dark green. I have a 240w LED about 18" from them. Also two 15w bulbs about 24" from them.

The room stays a consistent mid-70's (as seen in meter in tent pic). The RH is very low however, staying around 25-34. I circulate the air as well.

Am I being paranoid or are these guys in rough shape?

Too cold, temp can be higher, which will raise if you lower lights a bit.... humidity too low should be 60% + ...your giving to much water to often...and lights are too far away.

Your seedling doesn't need very much water at all. Pot is too big for size of plant.

^^^^. All of the above., Also have u been feeding? What is your watering/feeding schedules? I will get them out of that soil and pot and transplant into party cups with any new seedling starter potting soil. And get a ph meter. That soil looks terrible sorry.

im guessing that soil is a hot mix (with full nutes) meant for larger plants and you got some nute toxicity
make sure your using potting soil (hardly and nutes for seedlings)

The soil may be hot (Summit Base Camp). I honestly didn't even think that could be the issue, as the guy at the hydro shop suggested it over Fox Farms Ocean, as he said it was less hot than Fox Farms. Maybe he is mistaken.

I did a quick google search and see some posts here and there and they are 50/50. Some people say its fine for seedlings, some say it isn't. From the website: "A successful garden begins with strong genetics and a place for the roots to make a home. Base Camp Natural and Organic Potting Soil will give your plants the foundation they need to begin the long climb through the growing season until harvest.
Ingredients: coconut coir, peat moss, perlite, aged forest humus, pumice, earthworm castings, bat guano, alfalfa, kelp, fish meal, seabird guano, fish bone, crab shell, neem seed meal, rock phosphate, oyster shell, glacial rock dust, volcanic ash, langbeinite, yucca, mycorrhizae"

I was watering ~every 3 days when the top 2" of the soil was crusty with filtered water, pH 6.8 (used a meter to test it). I have fed no nutrients at all.

So 72-73 is too cold? What is the optimal temp for seedlings? Low 80's? I can do that with the heater. Not sure I can fix the humidity issue though.

So it looks like nutrient burn is what seems to be the consensus?

while they may like the warmer temps in the root area 72 is surely not out of safe range

if it doesnt say potting soil I wouldn't start my new seeds in it, not to say peeps don't..im sure some peeps do it with success... but I don't see the point in the risk!

maybe I might mix a potting soil with a hot mix and blend it 50/50 or 4:1 or something like that

but my experience with soil is limited, I grow in rockwool

Seedlings do not need nutrients!
I would transplant to a neutral potting soil asap.

Cuz every time you water they are getting food...not good for a seedling.

Update dudes: I transplanted the seedlings, and added some Grow Big to my water (1/8 teaspoon per gallon), since it looked like a phosphorous deficiency. 5 days later and they have tripled in size, the stems are no longer purple, and they appear to be flourishing. Now I can see the roots growing into the side of the cup. When do I transplant to the 5-gallon pots?

PS, the tall plant in the red cup is an experiment. It is not being treated similarly to the other two.

I don't see how you could be P def in a seedling with hot soil but im glad things are looking up

be careful
with your humidity that low the plants will drink more and require less nutes in ppm

but whatever you did they look good

Update 2: I transplanted the seedlings from the solo cups to 1 gallon styrofoam coolers I had lying around. They drooped a lot for one day, but they look good now, right? These look pretty healthy now I think. I watered them with just filtered water after the transplant. They are now about two months old, with the first month of them really struggling. They seem to be growing a lot faster now.
