I’m about to get an inline duct fan for my tent inside my room so I need it as quite as possible, I need around 150CFM for the tent, I know a 4inch fan would do the job but at 150CFM the fan is running at +70% it would be loud, i wondering if I get the 6 inch and run it at 150CFM, that’s only running at maybe 30% would that be more quite than the 4 inch fan?

Buy a plastic bin. Cut you 4” holes in it. Wrap your fan in egg crate foam and fill the box as well it will dampen it a lot
Yes good idea I’m think about make a box too, but I’m try to find out which fan is more quitter a 6inch or 4inch when running at 150 CFM.

Buy a Panasonic Whisperline 240 cfm 6" fan. Stick it on top of a 400 cfm filter and you are set to go.
Of course there are cheaper ways but I love the quietness of these fans. Been using them for 15 years. They are big but why build a cage when it comes prebuilt onto the fan
This is the 340 cfm 6". The 240 is slightly smaller. They also have a 120 in 4" but I like going bigger just in case.

That’s a nice fan i was looking at that too but is a bit pricey for me. I just got an 4 inch ac infinity from Amazon but is making loud noise when is at 50%+ think I there is something wrong with the bearing, is making around 83Db on the sound meter way louder than the 28db that they advertise. I’m now sending it back for a replacement or maybe get a 6inch. Would a 6 inch be more quitter runing at 150cfm than the 4 inch?Buy a Panasonic Whisperline 240 cfm 6" fan. Same cfm....Larger fan running slower rpm should be quieter.

I tried the AC fans. Very nicely built. Almost exact same built as the Solar & Palau fans. I to, like you, sent my fan back because it was loud as fuck and they advertise it as a "quiet" fan with low db ratings.
Low db ratings my ass. The 8" sounded like a jet engine at full speed and @ half speed was still way too loud for my purposes.
I know the Panasonic are expensive but take my word for it they last 10 plus years and I'm not shitting you. I have bought 20 of these for myself and others and not one has failed yet. They also don't lose their quietness.
BTW, I run mine 24/7 all year round. They NEVER stop. That's $$$ well spent IMO

Yes the ac infinity is so load event a little loader than the cheap vivo sun fan, not quite at all when pass half seed, ac infinity should not advertise as quite, there dBa is so misleading Because it was so loud I thought my fan was damage or not working properly when I receive it. How much quieter is the Panasonic compared to the ac infinity?

I know these fans are expensive. You will also need to buy a cord to wire up this fan.....which is another cost. Shipping is free tho. If you are low on funds I do not recommend buying this fan because the cost will hurt you up front. BUT, you will get a fan that will last you over 10 years of continuous running without a problem.
This is the cord you need: Open ended 14 gauge electrical cord/3 wire
You can even use a computer PC cord and snip off the female end. Same thing. If you have a PC cord then this fan will cost you $180 US. Like I said it's a lot higher than other fans but you will hardly hear this fan. You can sleep with it on. Especially if you use it like I do and blow into a carbon filter. It's like an air muffler for the fan. Totally blocks the air rushing noise and all you hear is a slight hum of the fan motor.
Otherwise like someone previously stated you can buy a cheap fan and build a box around it and stuff it with sound deadening stuff. It will save you money if that is more important to you
