i have a closet that hits 95f i had outtake on top and 3 intakes on bottom still hit 95 then switched it to 2 intakes on bottom and 1 outtake in the middle and one on top but its still 95 i have 2 strong 1 foot fans blowing air down to keep the lights as cold as possible but i think its stopping the air to rise to the outtake so i changed it to face up to blow the air to the top then the closet hit almost 110 was wondering if i could use the top as intake to pull cold air in to the fans blowing down and have my bottom ones as outtakes to pull the air out as its getting pushed down i know heat rises and what not but if im having a huge amount of cold air coming down i think the heat will just stay around the lights if i don't outtake it threw the bottom any suggestions ?

to get the heat to exit your going to need to run either your intake or exhaust on a higher speed then the other.. or try just running an exhaust and no intake. leave the intake hole open and you will have a pasive air flow.

Exhaust is best placed up top. Hot air rises and all that.

Are you venting from a closet into the same room? That would keep temps up as you're not really venting, just moving hot air. Best to vent outside or to another room, etc... if this is the case, that should help

i tried the hwole passive intake it was way hotter lol think the closet is to big for 4 68 watt 2 23 watt cfls before i had 8 23 watt cfls was hitting 95 also and the room its in has a a/c running 2/4 the room is cold but the closet just stays hot

I think pics would help.
Might just need a bigger exhaust fan or may need to straighten out your exhaust line if you have any duct work. A lot of bends restricts air flow, but if you're venting into the same room that's probly not it.

was wondering if i used the top outtake and change it to a intake so i can draw more cold air down with the 2 strong fans and have the outtake in the middle pull out the air scince the fans are like a foot away from it and the outtake is a foot away from the cfls

Nice pic.

My final guess is its because you're not venting out anywhere. Your hot air is only moving a little bit, from inside your tent/closet to right outside your tent/closet and then right back in. I would suggest trying to route the old air outside that room entirely and see if it helps. Maybe a close window or something?

If not let's hope some more ideas float your way. Good luck
