HELP, Larvae in my roots! (DWC)

Today I found small, black larvae in my DWC roots! They are about a millimeter long long. I removed the ones I could see by hand. What are they, where did they come from, and how do i kill them. When I remove one and place it on a dish it crawls similar to a catarpillar. These were in my roots, but they were not visible one day ago when I checked the roots? I never see any flies in my room, what are they?

corbat they do look similar to that, but there no house flies in my grow room. I've never heard of HF maggots in a hydro grow. Ive been doing some research and I do believe they may be fungus gnats. I do a good root inspection everytime im in my grow room ( 4-5 times/week) and today it was like they just popped out of no where! Im considering making a mild dilution of neem and water for a root soak. Any experiance with this?
Thanks for the replies.

Uses the Rollitup profile
I've never heard of using Neem Oil as a root drench. It's a fungicide, and pesticide. What you need is a larvacide, and BT is the one. It's a beneficial bacteria called bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, also called BTi. That's the main ingredient in Gnatrol.

I used Gnatrol for a few res changes and it killed my mini infestation. I also used the sticky yellow traps for the adults..

how should u wash ur used hydroton to reuse it??
mild bleach/ warm water solution then rinse well

FYI clorox starts out as salt and water and breaks down to salt and water.
Sodium hypochlorite degrades fast so it wont contaminate the hydroton!

soak them for like 10 min then rinse like 3 times then let them dry.

I used a product called Organocide. purchased from Lowes'. I diluted it and used it as a root soak for one hour, afterwhich the roots were rinsed and placed back into the bubbler. Also, a very small amount (5ml) was added to the reserviour. So far, so good. No more worms or eggs and the plants are doing fine. No-ill effects whatsoever in two days.
It's taken almost one year to work out all the kinks in my grow and i think Ive got it now. There is soooo much indoor gardeners must take into consideration. Regular preventative measures against pest are a MUST if you grow indoors, remeber, we do not have the natural balance and predators that nature does to control pest.

Organocide-OMRI listed, kills eggs, larvea, and nymphs of insects and the adult stages of over 25 soft-bodied insects including but not limited to (amphids, citrus rust mites, leaf rollers, mealy bugs, scale insects, spider mites, whiteflies, thrips, etc.)

I've read talk of these on the boards here and seen a product similar to that at a local garden shop. What are those dunks composed of and what is the active ingredient?
