firstly you need to figure what sort of system you want to run. for a first time grower, id definetly be looking at growing in coco. it'l expose you to proper methods of ph, ppm, and if you get it wrong youl learn quite a few defficiences quiuckly. consider it learning. with your first grow expect nothing, nada, zilch, and youl be happy with the outcome. i shit you not, my first two grows where with donated bag seed. did two crops, first with 6 plants, second with approx 15. every single one of these plants was hermie. every one. in my opinion it was gentics. but the amount i learnt from these two crops was invaluable.
obviously not matter what system you choose your gonna need a light source. what you gonna use? fluorescents, or HID? i personally started with a 250w hps and mh conversion bulb. for my hermie grows lol.
have you got somwhere to grow? im assuming you do otherwise you wouldnt be thinking bout it right? is it a room or tent? i grow in tents, but that all comes down to personal preference.
there is alot of different variables mate, whats the temperatures like where you are located? that may be a diciding issue as to what lighting sysytem you use if your on a budget go with the fluros, a smaller fan is needed than with the HID.
i wouldnt reccomend going too full on to start with. dont go and buy the biggest and latest shit the hydro store guy says too. keep it a reletively small op if your not 100% sure youre gonna enjoy it to keep doing it. wouldnt want a too large of an investment and then back out if you know what i mean.
i dont mean to be rude, but i reccommend you have a think about the particular system you want. research. research and youl find something appealing to you. i grow in coco using run to waste. so super simple and reliable. i can leave it all running and go away for upto a week with out worrying that a pump has shit itself and my plants are all dead(i hand water). there are alot of of things that will need to be thought about before even putting a seed in the ground mate.
hope this helps buddy
