HELP MEEE

I am starting my first indoor grow room project today and I'm making it out of a refrigerator that is gutted with mylar on the walls. What I need to know is if I put my cfl grow lights in there do they need to be 2-3 inches above the plants at all times or can I mount a light strip to the top and the mylar will reflect it down? I've never used a grow tent before. I don't know if the light will need to be close to the plants or just mounted at the top? When I first plant the lights will be a good 4 feet above the plants at least. Any help is appreciated

Yes CFL's need to be close. 4' for a CFL is too far away. Do a search on here and google, there are more than a few examples of frig. grows. Most I have seen utilize a 250 or 400 watt hps with a cool tupe and filter system. good luck

Toss a bucket under the plants till they grow closer... Closer the better... They will grow 4' feet away, but they will stretch more and your in limited space... Also look into LST (low stress training).

Its not about light or even brightness, its about light intensity, and light penetration. CFL lighting has only a few inches of light penetration from 4-6" away... keep the lights just above the canopy, with a fan blowing lightly between lights and canopy.

Bigger CFL's (actual grow lights... 125-250w actual wattage) give u more, and can be a bit further away, but the principle doesn't change.

Either invest in light hangers, or multiple sizes of buckets... otherwise the buds will form, be small, and still be too heavy for the branches to support....

Be patient in veg, train her down, LST, topping, etc. doing CFL you want a lot of budsites, and you want them at canopy level.... outsides of the plant, inner branches, under growth.... just trim it off when u move to flower, its only gonna leech resources, and produce nothing useful....

Using a cabinet, be sure to monitor your temps, including daily high/low points for heat/humidity....
