hello RIU

ive recently noticed that my roots are starting to pop out and show on the top of my soil : / sorry i dont have a camera so cant take any pics but there are various white fluffy roots ranging from about 2mm to 10mm out of soil, not sure how to take care of the problem without damaging roots or stressing my girls

the strain is haze special, around 2-3 weeks into veg under about 600W of CFL lighting. when i germinated i made sure the root was pointing down

any help greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

Stupid question, but did you put the seed deep enough when it first sprouted? and according to this which is off a thread on this site called "BC Northern Lights Producer grow" This is just something I remembered seeing. Happy Growin'!

thanks for the quick replies dudes, i placed my seed just under an inch into the soil with the tap root facing down but this may have moved when i placed the soil over it! my pots are about 6 inches in diameter and 6 inches deep! i was planning on transplanting them into a bigger pot once i know the sex as i have very limited space in my grow room (cabinet grow in a flat :( or do you guys think this would be too late to do it?

again any help appreciated and il try sprinkling some soil over the roots to see if it cures the prob

If it's three weeks into veg, then yep, I do believe the roots may be running out of room. It's never too late to transplant. I would do it, because if they are looking for more space, just covering the roots isn't gonna cut it - they'll keep doing it.

They'll be fine. I use the same sized pots for the first 3-4 weeks of veg, then transplant right before they go into bloom. By the time they're ready to transplant, I always have roots poking up from the top of the soil, and it's never been a problem. Just keep in mind that there's alot of roots in those pots, sucking up lots of moisture, so it won't hurt to water more often than usual. I watered every other day, and they were almost completely dry by then.

EDIT: I'm not saying that this is optimum, I'm saying that it's nothing to worry about. 'Optimum', would be to transplant a week before the roots started showing, but some of us don't have that option. :)
