Whats good everyone? I'm starting a grow in a 3x3 closet, only gonna have 2 plants. Nothing spectacular.

My question is though, what kind of lighting should i use? should i roll with staright cfls? and if so how many per plant?

Any feedback would be great. Thanks everyone and god bless.

HIDs are great, but put out a lot of heat. If you have a compact area, you might want to stick with CFL's, as HID's will probably end up giving you a temp issue, although there are options to deal with the heat, it just costs $$$. As a user of HID lights, I have no idea how many CFL's to suggest, but I would probably use at least 2 per plant depending on the wattage. I have a mother on 2 150W (equivalent) CFL's and it seems to be happy with the amount of light it is getting, although it is only in the veg stage. I've never tried to flower with them, but I have seem some pretty nice nugs from people who have used CFL's. Look around, there are a lot of good posts about lighting.

I find the best compromise to be T5s overhead and 42w cfls on the sides. The T5s are more efficient than cfls but no more heat. Both blue and red bulbs make them usable the whole grow. cfls are lower price though.
