HELP! Plant hoppers and possibly leaf hoppers! What do I do?

Hey guys, recently I have noticed these bugs on my ladies..

but is completely a dark brown when I have seen them.

They have been scarring my leaves for the last month or so and have gotten more and more noticeable, leaving yellow spots or miniscule tears where it is yellow.

I would like to get rid of them before they infect my plant with some foreign plant disease and before they suck the life out of them lol.

Any feedback on how to get rid of these pest are much appreaciated!

neem is a good place to start...how far off is harvy?

Harvy will be a while, I was think of neem too... Start to flower maybe less than a month ago and are starting to fill in ever so slightly.

Leaf hoppers(second pic) won't do what you're describing. They bite and inject their eggs in the new growth stems. Causing them to stunt and look retarded.

But that's my experience. And I'd imagine every strain will react differently...

The first bug I've never seen before.

Permethrin and Pyrethrum(Garden Take-down) work as a contact spray and work well. They're both non-toxic to mammals. Permethrin holds up much better. Spinosad works for spraying on leaves but not sure if it's just for caterpillars or for any leaf eating bug.

i read that you can make a tea or concentrate of garlic and soap and mix it 20 to 1 with water and spray on plants.

Have seen both of these bugs for about the last month aswell, neem oil is keeping them at bay.... But it has rained atleast every 3 days for the last month too. So everytime i spray with neem oil it gets washed away within a couple days. Garden safe brand insecticidal soap works pretty well too.

I had a big problem with leaf hoppers during my last outdoor grow. They WILL eat holes in the leaves.

I've never messed with neem oil but what has worked for me is "sevin". Keep in mind it's a chemical insecticide and I wouldn't suggest drenching your buds with it if they're far along. I just use it during vegetative growth and it works great.

I'm getting a couple of these here and there on my plant too. I try and kill them but they jump so quick. Like little pops. Anyone know if a garlic/hot pepper/soap mix would work to kill/keep these away like it does for most insects?

I was told by another grower a product called "Bayer" would get rid of them......i researched it and it prob would work but it can be bad for the environment and also kills bee's so mon did not use it and went with more shade screen and just kept picking them buggers off, it took about a week after shade screen was put up to pick em all off but they are gone, mon also neems once a week, wither mon see bugs or not. The Neem would make them jump off but they kept coming back later, if mon had no choice mon would use the "bayer" but only as a last resort. You can get "Bayer" at home depot or lowes it is about $12-$15 bucks and you mix it with your water......peace

how about some lady bugs? praying mantis? thats what i plan to slart letting loose at least every two weeks starting next month
