help!!! plants growing to tall

hello everybody! new member here needing some advice for my first grow.
i have been researching this site and getting some valuable info on all growing tips but have came across a problem.
i built myself a 3ft by 3ft by 5 1/2 ft grow box made from plasterboard and painted it matt white.
the grow box holds the temperature nicely but made a mistake by using seeds i found in a bud that i bought. i dont know the strain but it is 5 ft tall and starting to flower and getting really close to the light.
does anybody know of any technics to stop it growing in height? dont know what to do if it keeps growing. check picture!!:leaf:

well its to big now to stop it. It has way to much stretch maybe the light wasnt close enough. in the beginning to get a short bushy plant the light has to be like 2-5 inches close to the top and LST would help or topping it but it to late maybe your next grow you will master it.

tie some string to her branches and bend her down and away from the light a few inches, you dont really have much of a choice now if you want to grow it in your box. you can bend her alot, just go slow and watch the branches as you bend... becareful not to snap any.... read Uncle Ben's topping technique and how to LST plants so you dont have this issue again :) good luck.....

if you can bend the plants head down ..that will work... marijuana is a weed and can grow any which way you place its..check mine out..


she was so tall i had to grow her on her side...=)

I'd grow that plant on it's side - yes I'm serious.

transplant it into a grow bag, so you can lay it down without all the soil falling out, and cut a hole in the side of the bag for watering.

topp it, use some hardcore lst on it, supper cropp it(snap the branches, but make sure that they arent snapped of completely)

never thought of bending it cause they r quite flexible plants i suppose. thanks for the replies was really not looking forward to watching her die.
when would be the best time to try this?

You could try tilting the whole pot to say 45 degrees and support the main stem at that angle. All the side branches will get much more light exposure and orient toward the light. Just a somewhat delicate operation. :o

i wonder if anyone looked at the pic?

It's all stretch; if you tie the top the branches are only going to stretch more! :wall:

I'm telling you grow it sideways, and every bud site on the plant will receive plenty of light.

That is unless you don't like buds

you should do it in veg...so you dont stress her out 2 much...

but if you cant..you can do it whenever..just be careful!..bend her gradually

or just tip her on her side..and tie her up with a shoe string..no bending required..

your coloas will be huge..and ur smaller nugs will reach from the sky...

going to go tie the top down with a shoe lace while the lighs are on, thanks for the help this has turned out to be a great site.

that should be easy to feed/water:lol:.
