Help please!

Hello my fellow rollitup members,

If anyone could advise on the attached photos, this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in coco/perlite, under a mars hydro ts1000, watering with canna coco A+B, Rhizzo, Boost, Cannazym and Cal Mag - ppm 700-800 and ph approx 6. Ive been watering till run-off and checking the ph and ppm and my ppm is approx 700-
800??? Im so perplexed as surely if it was nute burn my ppm run-off would be coming out alot more than 700-800 - is this correct?

I had a little trouble with a cal mag deficiancy about a month back as idiot me was spraying the cal-mag warer onto the leaves and not feeding the roots but as soon as I put 1ml/1lt into my mix, she seemed to perk up and now this.

I'm guesing that I've gone a bit hard on the nutes or there's salt build up in my coco but I wanted to check with you much more experienced pros prior to flushing.

I'm no expert by any means but it looks like a calmag deficiency,I feed mine calmag almost every feed, as to my understanding when using Coco some of the calcium is held by the Coco itself(cation exchange)thus only making a certain amount available to the plant,also from what I've read it's very difficult to overfeed calcium.as long as you're getting about 10% runoff and the ppm isn't too high I doubt it's a salt buildup.i hope this helps but as I say I'm no expert.

I can also see purple stems which is either magnesium deficiency or lights off temps are too cold I would say

What size is that airpot? It only looks like about 2.5 gallon.
A plant that size should be fed multiple times a day in a pot that size in coco.
Have you calibrated your pH meter lately?

Hi, and thank you for your replies. Ps420! Yeah ive fed her 1ml/1ltr in with the rest of the nutes this time round - hopefully 2moz shell brighten up... its winter over here and ive made sure my temps don't go below 60c when lights are off (afternoon).

Hi Mick, thank you for you last lot of info it really helped. Typical for me to run into this a month later lol. Its an 8ltr pot, yeah my last run was a 16ltr pot and shes the same size, I was expecting this one to be smaller but thought result!!! I haven't calibrated my ph pen neither have I been feeding her every day - every other day.

Pretty good guess on pot size.....it's 2.11 gallons.
I use 9.2 ltr airpots and I feed twice a day in flower......some growers feed multiple times.
Make sure your pH pen is calibrated properly.......that's why I use the drops.

Cheers Mick, ive drops aswell so ill revert to those for the next feeds. Would you suggest flushing her or lay off the nutes for a while (only feed cal/mag and PH water)?

Just use the drops to check the accuracy of your pH pen.
Never lay off the nutes.
You can flush if you like......it certainly won't hurt anything even if it isn't necessary. If you decide to flush just make sure you use a 1/4 strength nute solution.......never plain water.

Not sure what’s gone on here^^^

1. DONT TEST RUN OFF IN COCO.
The reading is not an accurate one and should be ignored entirely.
2. What are you ph’ing nutes at? 5.8 seems to be the sweet spot in coco.
3. Make up a quarter strength batch of nutes and leech (aka flush) the pot with three times whatever the volume of the pots is.
4. Make up a regular strength brew, feed, and walk away.

Hi Venus55, my ph is approx 6 (never below 5.8 and never above 6.2) ill do that "1/4 strength nutes" so if my pot is 9ltr then 27 litres of 1/4 strength nutes - yes?

I'm also based in a cold climate and my water has potentially been too cold when watering, my temps drop to approx 60f when lights out so I've invested in a little tent heater and plan on making sure my warer temp is on point when feeding.

Too many people focus on “what” the deficiency is and not what caused it.
When you’re feeding quality nutrients the only reason the plant may become deficient is because it’s roots are not happy and are locking out specific nutrients.
Main culprit for unhappy roots is ph. If you know your ph is on point then it could be under or over watering.

Forget the specific deficiency and fix the reason your roots locked them out.

Yes 27 litres 1/4 strength. The first grow in coco I did I ph’d at 6-6.2 and always had amount of yellow or yellowing leaves. Nothing g dramatic or problematic but always there never the less. Someone suggested dropping to 5.8 and stopped having that problem. Coco tends to like it there for whatever reason

Thanks Myke, never come across this before - very interesting read. I just assumed as my last grow (very first grow) whent ok using canna coco nutes and their grow guide calculator this would be the same but I grew Northern Lights on my first and ive read up that this strain you can throw all the nutes and stressful situations at it and it'll come out shining.

Yeah, I only realised today that my radiator in my room was turned off
Turned it on, going to flush her @1/4 strenth x3, get myself a tent heater and make sure my waters/feed is at room temp.
Happy ive got to the bottom of it
