Any help welcome, im growing in 70% coco 30% perlite in an autopot system

plants are 3 weeks old, filled the 47ltr res and put nutes in at 1/4 strength. i switched the autopot system on and then the leaves started to go yellow brown at the ends in wards. is it nute burn? as i dont have an air stone in the water res, or is it more overwatering?

ive since switched of the water res and are going to let the pots dry out a bit and see if anything changes 20140314_115050.jpg20140314_115145.jpg

absolutely i know it is. general rule of thumb, dont add nutes until you see the cotyledons have fallen or the plant is telling you it needs food, being a very light green nearly yellow color.

sweet so i have turned off the water tank and refilled with plain water ph 5.8-6 ish added superthrive. i havnt turned on the water tank yet as i wondered if it was from over watering. should i just flick the wster tank back on with the plain water superthrive mix

I use autopots too, and have used nutes that early but this all can be strain/nute dependent. switching res off good move, you might want to flush the pots individually as in water from the top, plain ph'd water till you get run off. Let the pot drain and then place back into the tray (no water in the tray ) When putting water in the res i only fill it with 5 - 10 liters at a time because over time the ph can drift out of range which can lock out nutes etc.... I don't think i use the res normally til about 1 month in, they need the coco to dry out a bit sometimes to begin with so the roots spread to search for water.... they should only need watering once or twice in the first few weeks, really....that's just how i do it hope it helps!

Do you put your nutes into your water res? im guessing i should have a airstone int the res?

With coco its best to hand water. Water hydro nutes every watering as per directions on label.

I do use nutes in my res, i use hesi coco nutes after loads of research, they seem best for the combination of hydro and coco. I could be wrong.....am waiting to finish it so i can try a diff brand for comparison. I'd research online to see if anyone is using the same nutes as you with autopots or other hydro set ups.... If you think they aren't suitable for the autopots handwater til u get ur new nutes. I start 1/4 after the first few weeks and work up slowly.

I do have a pump in my res but usually only if im.filling up at least 10 litres. Its a very cheap, quiet fish tank airpump i believe

I remember why i chose hesi now, its because there's no need to worry about theEC readings with their coco nutes, and once i was in flower the flower nutes (orange label) level out the ph for me too....some people reckon they got heat results using just.the hesi coco (orange label) all thru the grow when using autoflowers
