hi
i have several problems with my 4 plant

1 of them is 60 cm high. 2 month old and appeared bloody balls. so it is a male

2nd plant is 30 cm high, 2 months old and still a dwarf and thin and no brunches. only growing vertically.

3rd plant is just a fuck. 20 cm high. 1 month old and it is a hobbit. small leaves, no brunches and vertical growing.

4th is only an amphibian although it is 1 month old. and it can be the main point of this researchment :D

except for the 1st one, others has small leaves (i dont mean they have thin leaves like sativa), no brunches and all grow vertically.

when i saw all of your plants i noticed that they all were wide and had lots of leaves and the distances of leaf groups are close to eachother. and they have bruches etc...

i supply a 200w plant light (Osram) + 36w grolux florescent, , 18 hours per day and around them they have aluminium folios, i water them once a day and pots have holes at the buttom, ph is ok, temperature is ok, and 4 seeds are different from eachother so they are different samples...the soil has perlits and i bought it from a flower shop....

the 1st plant which shows himself as a male, grew fast and very tall. but why the others still drarf and have no brunches and they have less leaves.
i dont understand that.

i am about to cut them off and chease from growing. it is my first indoor experience and i am going to fail i guess.

if there was something missing then why the 1st plant grew fast and become 60 cm before the others reach to this height?

and the 1st plant would be a female too. so can we say that i am missing something about light water or soil etc in this case, while the 1st plant quickly showed himself ?

it confuses me... as a summary i want to ask the following questions...

1-why 1st one grew faster than the others (it has wide leaves looks strong)

2-why are all of their leaves small and few

3- why none of them has no brunches

4-why do they look week and tiny and thin although they are 20-30 cm

Note: all the seeds i have are from a seed bank and the types of them are; white widow, mango etc.

It would be easier to help you, with a couple pictures. But from what you are saying, it may be just because they are different strains. Indica dominant strains will generally be shorter and bushier, while Sativa dominant strains will be taller and kind of thin.

some photos have been added. you can see the problem
Those are really small for 2 months old...

You say you water everyday.. that could be your problem.. you'd be better off watering every 2-4 days and just giving them more... give the soil a chance to dry out some...

Other things to consider are adding some more lighting... and how close are the lights to your plants? CFL's can be kept pretty close, almost right on top of the plants...

most people will tell u not to water every day, let the pot almost dry and then water, with mine its around every 3rd day i water and feed. as for grow rate well i've got 5 " church" all femed from same seedbank all in exactly the same soil/perlite/vermiculite medium and waterd and fed the same nutes under the exact same conditions and they are all at different heights from almost 4.5' down to just under 3'. so it just shows that each plant is individual. as for ur stalks being thin have u got a fan blowing on them, it helps massively in building a thick stalk, as well as helping avoid mold. maybe u need to up ur nutes. and maybe check ur rootball isnt strangling itself, if so then put in a bigger pot. i think maybe because ur watering evry day ur roots arent stretching for more water and food. 4 plant under that light arent gonna end up like trees although they should produce well enuff buddy.

What type of light is that 200w? It seems like they are stretching and have low light. If you had those under a good light like a 250w hps or something, they'd be huge. I guess get your lights closer/get a better light source. That'd be the main problem of their puny state.

^ what he said... the plants are tiny because you don't have enough light.... get you're self a pair of clamp lights from walmart, down that same isle pick up a 4 pack of 26 watt CFL's... stop by HD on the way home and pick up two y-splitters... add 3-4 26 watt bulbs to each plant, putting them all around the plant, like an inch or two away from the leaves.... you'll see a difference within the week.....

small leaves is usually a sign for lack of light , also the stretching .

as for the grow time , is differs from one strain to the other, in a matter of 1-3 weeks .
but a lack of ANYTHING can affect the grow time.

i use in total 200 w Osram spot natura ( there is a picture of a plant and a spot on the box of it)

i know one of the best way for flowering is 250w or 400w philips High pressure sodium ampuls and the rest of the set.
Balast+reflector+ampul+ cables etc..
And acceptable vegetation lights are cool white and warm white florescents...

Question 1: " is it so much neccesary to use florescents in vegetative period? or is it possible to use only 250 w HPS from begining to the harvest time without useing florescents ?

Question 2: "what is "BALAST" for ? i dont know what it is. Is it difficult to activate or setup? Or anyone can do this ?

Question 3:Lets say the problems are light or watering mistakes... But i want to know why my 1st plant has large leaves and the others dont have, and he is 2 times taller than the others?
(maybe because of its race?)

Question 4: is it so much neccesary to use fan and those proffesional equipments?

Question 5: Are Gro lux florescents help the vegatative period of the plants? those aquarium ones :D

And i guess i know the certain solution that is:
First i will try to water them every 3 or 4 days till the soil really needs water.
If it doesnt work then i will buy HPS system.

1. Yes a 250w hps will work fine for vegging, it's not perfect but they will get big fast.

2. To use a HPS bulb the light bulb socket is connected to a Ballast which gives the light power. They can come already set up, you just screw in the bulb and plug in the ballast and you got light.

3. Strain will make them different in how they grow, every strain grows different.

4. If you dont use good equipment, you wont get good bud. The more you put into mary jane, the more she will put out.

5. The grow bulbs are more than likely a warm bulb if they are a grow light. For vegatative you want the cool blue. Either way, that light will make vegging take a long time, you need a lot more light. Even more when you finally flower.

Though people may not want to hear that, truer words have never been spoken.

Your plants are badly stretched. Too little light, too far away. That's your number one problem right now. If you can afford it, get an HPS. Best prices I've seen, from www.htgsupply.com . Most of their ballasts are switchable too, so you could get an MH conversion bulb as well, and then just switch the bulb from MH to HPS for flowering.

OK that's something I'VE always wanted to know and felt retarded asking. I have a 400 w hps ballast with a 400 w hps bulb. All I need to use a MH is the conversion bulb of the same wattage? Or is there anything else?

firstly thanks for everyone for the replies.

And i need to say that i couldnt find any HPS or MH sets even in huge stores in my city...
i only found HPS bulbs and MH bulbs. But there were no reflector, armature or balast. Only i could find was bulbs and i know that the only way is to order via internet.

SO....

i want to continue with this process with flourescents for a while till i get some experience on my first growing.

i need help with florescents.

i read many topics about florescents but i got confused. because there are different comments and mostly the reason is i dont understand english pretty much. and it is a bit difficult to get everything.

! Now i want to know what type of florescents do i need to vegatate and flowering? !

Cool white?
Warm white?
Extra warm white?,
Floura?
Day light?
Soft light?
Blue?
Red?

i am so lost in those things...

could you match them for me ?
and i want to know if cool white & Extra warm white work fine for vegging and flowering?

They are 1350 Lumens and 18w

And do these florescents supply enough heat?
