Hi

my plants have been on a 12/12 cycle for a little over 10 days now and i am seeing what i believe are signs of how to tell the sex but i am a little confused - can anyone please help me in identifying the sex of these lot

I have 3 plants in question that have grown outside for most of their life but they are doing their 12/12 cycle indoors under lights as my garden is overlooked by many other houses and i dont want to seem like i am doing something i shouldnt :)

Anyway here they are

plant 1.jpg
plant 2a.jpg
plant 2 b.jpg
plant 2 c.jpg
plant 2 d.jpg
plant 2 e.jpg
plant 2 f.jpg
plant 2 g.jpg
plant 3.jpg
plant 3 b.jpg
plant 3 c.jpg

I have highlighted as best i can at what i am looking at

It seems that plant 1 has what look like the pollen sacks but also has pistiles showing

Plant 2 has pistiles but also what look like the start of sacks

Plant 3 has no sacks but lots of pistiles

I hope someone with more experience can look at the pics and advise

Thanks

Dude, don't pull them unless you are positive they are males, or hermie. I made that mistake. Some told me they were hermie. So I pulled them. Then a couple days after I pulled them so many people told me they were nice looking female plants. Now I look at their sister plant and it makes me sick to think I could have had 3 of them. Because she is a beauty!!!

#3 is definitely a female. The first one looks like a hermie to me. As for #2, I'd say male. But I'd give them a little more time.

Ok, for those who replied that whatever plants are hermi, how exactly are you coming to this conclusion? At this point in the development of the plant I don't believe that you can determine wether a plant has hermaphroditic tendencies. In my experience you won't be able to tell until later in the flowering period. I've had plants, many plants that were females and had a few male flowers show up on them and I wouldn't call them hermaphrodites, in fact I think that this is a natural occurance. Kill3rvill3 I think you are right to wait until the plants show their sex more clearly.

On a side note if you've a female plant that pops out some male flowers you can simply go through your plant with some tweezers and pick out the male flowers, or you could harvest the resultant seeds. These seeds harvested that were polinated with only one set of genes and will be 100% female. Since the plant can only pass on its own genes and in this case it polinated itself you'll have feminized seeds!

hey its me again - the worried dad
It turns out they are all girls - the balls that i was a bit scared of have all sprouted pistiles and a good friend of mine who has a lot more experience in growing came to visit and look at them and he has confirmed they are all females so i have put one outside a gain to put her back in veg and i will leave her to mother nature as i dont really have the space yet indoors for three girls

my advice for anyone concerned about having males is just wait things out - it can be worrying especially with your first grow but wait things out and see what happens - it always helps to get advice from here but there is only so much a picture can show so if you can get somebody round who knows what they are looking at even better

Thanks again everyone
