Hi, interested in my first grow. I have decided to use my office closet for this grow (pictured below). NOW that, I have decided on location.... Which size grow tent would fit best inside? I don't want to remove shelves or bars. I want to simply build tent and insert into closet.

1.What size grow tent would you recommend?
2. How many plants for selected grow box size?

Thx in advance....

I’m a new grower as well. Had the same questions. Honestly just measure ur space. And just have wiggle room on sides (I didn’t care about the back) and obvs the front. I did it like this so I have my ducting coming from inside my tent through the top of my tent and out. And the side ports I have some cables going out to my power strip which I screw onto wall with zip-it’s. When it comes to the height. U might wanna remove some bars or shelves. As for I have a 3x3x6 and with having 6 ft in higher I feel like it’s not enough after u set all ur fans, carbon filter, lights etc. it’s really want u will feel comfortable working with. As I could prob fit 3-4 in my plant but for the fact that it’s my first grow and I’m a noob. I started with just 2. So I can reach it and water it in my scrog without stressing out my self and maybe my high ass slipping and falling over my plants tryna water the back 2. I’ll upload a pic of my set up. I have it in a closet to. Only thing is closets or at least mine they don’t have a air vent and my closet happens to be in a hall way with not vents either lol. So I had to make a lot of air move there . When I was gonna start it sounded stressfull and sounds like a lot but don’t give up. It’s really fun so far. I actually love going to check on my girls and really sometimes I find shit to do in my tent like adjusting lights or fan so I can be there lol

It takes a lot of room to assemble the tent. It’s not going to happen in a closet I promise. The best you can do is assemble it outside and slide it in. Meaning the width of the door opening. Why not forget the tent and just grow in the closet?

Remove the shelves. Put them aside with the screws and brackets, it's not to big of a deal to put them back up.
Otherwise you're limited by the height of the shelf and if you pull the tent forward you've lost a bunch of space behind it.

There are several reasons to consider a tent in a closet. Light is one thing, several devices have switches with lights. Moisture was a big concern with me, a tent contains it to keep it off the walls and carpet. I run a tent in a closet, and have a shelving unit beside it to store nutrients, electronic measuring equipment, notebook/paper for notes etc. Lock on the door for when we have guests and it looks like any other closet.

If you intend to build first the tent must fit through the door. Remember to leave room for the vents to function as required.

It may be easier to line the closet with panda film and go to town.

Either way, plan the ventilation strategy first.

Using a tent in the closet can provide ventilation holes and such but they will still need to be ducted out of the closet. ie: leaving the closet door open for intake and exhaust heat ducted elsewhere.

Once you figure out the ventilation routes and actual growing space you can start figuring out the light source required to light that square footage.
