So my friend is having problems determining the sex of a few of his flowerings plants (flowering for over a month). I, having had a few male plants of my own in past grows, thought I would easily be able to determine the sex of his three plants that aren't obviously female like the rest of his. His nine female plants are all tall and have big buds forming with LOTS of white hairs. 3 of his plants (which were said to be feminized online when he bought them) are about half as tall as the rest of the plants (they are pretty small in other words), and have NO white hairs. However, nor do they have the traditional grape-like balls hanging off of them. Instead, they have something that looks like a cross between buds and the male pods. They are very fuzzy (not mold). It is extremely difficult to tell what the bud-pods are. They are not the smooth pods you see hanging from a male. They look like frosty (crystallized) bud that is loosely in a 3d ellipse shape. To make matters more confusing, the parts of the plant around budding sites and the strange bud-pod thingies are completely frosted. The leaves, parts of the stem... and it is not mold. It has been frosted since before they even started flowering.
Its really hard to describe but its like nothing I have ever seen. Not female, not male, not hermie.
All three seeds were said to be the same strain and were all supposedly feminized. However they ALL exhibit the characteristics i described above. Is it just some extremely weird strain or something? How could they all be males? And if so, why would they look like this?
My friend will be taking pictures within the next day, and I will upload them to help clarify things. Until then, we would appreciate any guesses you have.
THANKS,
