what has been helping me is those auto spray air fresheners. you can get the piece and the refills for like 15 bucks. throw one in the vicinity of your grow area and it should cover up the smell pretty well. i only have one flowering plant at a time and it masks it.

Your for sure bet is to go with a carbon filter and inline, just like your thinking. Yeah 4 bills isn't cheap, but that's pretty much what anything else will get you---cheap. I am sure there's diy's on this if your interested, but imho, not worth it. I 've ran the Big Blues, uvonair3000, cd burners, everything.....always back to the old die hard carbon filter.....Get a speed control for 25 or whatever too.....you can tone down the volume and noise....just dont go too small.
Good luck!!

Sound is a major issue for me as well. Just found out from the manufacturer that the Soler & Palau "Silent Series" is being released in the US tomorrow (Dec. 1). The specs say the TD800/200 Silent runs at a little under 20 dB (570 cfm/8" duct). I'm guessing this is around 75% quieter than an equivilent centrifugal fan.

No pricing yet and if money is an issue, this may not be the best route, but it is definately going to be the quietest fan out there.

There is no way you can swerve a fan and filter with 9 plants a time. As Yoda once said....... hmmmm smelly fuckers they are!!

ill be starting a journal as soon as i get my ventilation, have some strains already vegging : Hindu kush , Green Crack and Auto-flower blueberry (lowlifeseeds) wouldn't recommend the auto blues to anyone myself.. wish i could just get my 80 bucks back for it lol.. they just grow so unstable.
and even the best only yield maybe a little over 14g. only reason im continuing to grow it is because i dont wanna waist the 80 bucks and hoping i can cross it with either the Hindu or green C and eventually have a better auto flower.I just like the idea of being able to vegg my photo period plants while still growing bud and keeping my self happy.

I bought a mountain air 4" filter, it wasn't cheap but they are supposed to last 36 months as opposed to 12. with your secret jardin 90 IMO you won't need anything over 4" for the amount of air you need to pull to reciculate and cool. I'm in Canada too BTW.

Indoor Valley seems to have decent prices for canadians.. but never as cheap as our lucky neigbhours.

I like the advice of not trying to cheap out on your carbon filter. if you don't want any smell get a good one.

i agree with you i don't want to go with a cheap set up but only have a small budget to work with right now..
also couldn't find any filter and fan combos on there, did i miss it or are you just saying i should buy it separate..?
whats wrong with the one from the link i sent you from eBay ? just wondering if there's something i should be looking at
in the specifications that i haven't been.
help is Greatly appreciated before i make a final decision on this :P

I'm a total noobie so this is my first setup. I've heard some good things about gotham products from this forum. So I would say go for it as its a good cheap price for a set-up.

I paid, like you had quoted, $400 for my fan and carbon filter from a local hydro store. I see them as one time purchases so I wanted to make sure they were good quality etc. With no brand names on this product, who knows? But for $140 for fan and carbon filter you could be laughing at my stupid ass if everything works out :D

Also, apparently gotham is good to call (they have their phone number on the listing) just to make sure they will ship to Canada.

Good luck
