I planted a seed in starter soil, no paper towel or soaking, it took about 5 days to break soil. Today is day 7 and it was bent over when I checked on it this morning. Plant is in a stealth grow box under CFL lighting. There's input and out put fans and the plant has been about 3-6 inches away from the lights.

Have you watered?. When I start my seeds in soil I water first then plant the seed. I keep the area moist then once she sprouts I water every 4 days with a 1/2 gal of water and I grow in 3 gal Smart Pots. It's a good system as I always have successful grows that get my wife and I stoned to the bone...

Yeah, i would try to prop it up a little bit, but like was said above it is likely a gonner. Never seen a seedling that started to have the stem rot at the soil line make it. Usually this is because the soil was kept too moist. Next time use a different seed starter soil, that stuff doesn't look right to me. Should be lighter and have some perlite in it.

Dont give up too soon mate i had the exact same thing happen to one of mine and it turns out i over waterd it to the max so all i did was skipped its next watering and then stuck to every 2nd day waterings and only a small amount and now its one of my biggest plants. If it desides to make it once it starts growing again it should go mad with growth like mine. Good luck and may the force be with you XD
